I put in canned yams, sugar, brown sugar, salt, raisins, spiced rum, apple pie spice, toasted pecans, and vanilla. It's a new recipe and I want to see if anyone thinks it sounds good. I can stick in some coconut if it would help. I boiled them till the liquid reduced.

Oh, and butter. I put in butter!

They should be delicious!

P.S. I'm so glad you didn't do that tired marshmallow topping thing. To me, marshmallow just overpowers the delicate taste of yams. Enjoy your meal.

Put the mixture in a casserole sprayed with Pam and add a single layer of miniature marshmallows. Bake until top is brown.

This is a classic recipe and you are on the right track! No coconut needed.

Sounds good! Try some brown sugar, butter and chopped pecan mixture on top!

Your sweet potato recipe sounds wonderful and I think that adding coconut would be very tasty.

Sounds good to me. Coconut would be fine too.

I'm willing to try new things. You probably won't want a large portion, but I will bet it will complement the other features.

Sounds good. I prefer my sweet potatos just baked in their jackets, but that sounds good if not too sweet.
