...interracial marriage?

I ask because I have been disowned by my father for announcing my atheism at age 11. That was 32 years ago, and we have no relationship.

My sister is disowned for loving a black man. The only man who has ever loved her unconditionally and treated her like a queen, and who would die for her.

My reasons for asking this are valid and sincere, as I cannot and will not ask my father.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Vot...It doesn't. I'm just curious about the general mind set, that's all.

Philo...no connection. However, according to my father, you can be disowned for any number of things. I'm just curious as to how people think, there is no other motive for my question.

I call myself a Christian for lack of a better term and only because I love Jesus...I don't believe in several of the core beliefs of the religion and I don't live according to the Bible. I also rarely attend church.

I don't have anything against homosexuals and I know the Lord loves them too.

I can see why people don't believe in God but I remain firm on that: I love the Lord.

And I'm sorry that your sister was disowned by your father. Her man sounds just wonderful. I'm interracially married and was nearly disowned by my father as well. Luckily, through time and prayer, he has come around.

I can tell your reasons are sincere. My comments are too.

It's weird - I've heard a few Christians say that interracial marriage is against God's will. Most of them are now in their 60's or older (I think it's because of the time they grew up in maybe?). If I ask them for answers, they will not know why, or they will say, "The Bible says not to be unequally yoked". (By the way, I know skin color doesn't make anyone unequal - that's their argument not mine.)

That is NOT what it means though.
2 Corinthians 6:14 Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

Most Christians I know mean that to not marry a non-Christian or enter into business partnerships and stuff like that.

My guess is that your sister was disowned just because of your fathers racial prejudice. It is not Christian doctrine.

I'm sorry for what you've gone through. Your father isn't showing Christ's love.

The Bible says nothing about inter racial marriage.

Its does say that Christians should only marry other Christians.

I would seriously doubt if your father is a Christian, but that's just based on what you told me. A real Christian Dad would disown his child even for becoming an atheist or anything else for that matter.

Your Dad might well be a religionist and a member of some church, but probably a church which doesn't follow or teach the Bible very well, if at all.

Wow, your dad sounds like a douche. There is actually a spot in the Bible about not having interracial marriages, but my interpretation of it seems to be that the Jews didn't want people to marry outside the faith.

Anyways, no, most modern Christians do not hold onto the racial thing, but still the homo thing. Go figure.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with interracial marriage.
And BEING a homosexual is not a sin, The bible just says that it is a shame. But a homosexual act is an abomination according to that same scripture. Worthy of considerable rumination, right ??

Whatever happened to "judge not lest you be judged"? World would be a better place if more people payed attention to that, instead of trying to prove themselves "Better" than others around them. Also, I personally think that a TRUE christian would be well aware of mans instructions not to judge. ESPECIALLY to the point of disowning a child as bible speaks loudly and often about how precious children are!!

I don't really see the connection between homosexuality and interracial marriage. The Bible did forbid Israelites from taking foreign wives, but it was for religious reasons, not for racial reasons. I don't see anything in the Bible that would indicate there's anything wrong with interracial marriage.

You, your sister and her husband have received a great wrong. You all should have been loved and accepted as family no matter what.

My wife has not had a relationship with her mother in years because she sinned by marrying me. I am not of another race, I am just 17 years older than she is but that was the work of Satan to let her mother tell it.

There is nothing wrong with interacial marriage. No where in the bible does it state it is wrong. It is wrong to be disowned for going out with someone of a different race.
