The law firm/collection agency who won the judgment calls me every day (they leave a message on my machine) and have now sent me a letter telling me to contact their office within 7 days. Can they file a Motion of Contempt against me and will I go to jail? I live in Michigan. Thanks.

You're judgment/garnishment proof because you live on disability. So don't sweat it. Just stay off the phone. If they send you a summons, show up and tell the judge you're on disability. There really isn't any more to say than that.

You are NOT going to jail. This is a civil matter, not criminal.

1.You won't go to jail.
2. Make payment arrangements with the agency and adhere to them.

You can tell them not to call that number any longer and they HAVE to honor the request.
