I don't mean a certain religion, but the general concept of religion. I think belief can be a lot like love, because most times you can't have a logical explanation, but yet it takes over your entire life.
What do you think?

Ok, once again: I DID NOT SAY RELIGION BRINGS LOVE, I JUST SAID THE 2 FEELINGS RESEMBLE IN ESSENCE

I don't see a connection per say, but I certainly see the similarities between the two based on your above assertion that neither have a logical explanation and they both take over your entire life.
In saying that, when you leave either of them, they leave emotional scars that take a fair amount of time to 'get over'.

Since it is well known that religion is an outward manifestation or practice of one's belief, your interchanging of those two words in your question cautions my answer. If, however, we play like religion means belief, as your question suggests, I would have to know what one's "faith" is. Contrary to what "Woopyalecris" says, all religions are NOT connected to love, and, contrary to what "lauren m" says, love is NOT a feeling ("The Road Less Traveled" by M. Scott Peck, M.D.(psychiatrist), 1978). Love is a choice to go on caring for and about someone, even AFTER the feeling is gone. His book I cited above set records on the ny bestseller list for fiction and non-fiction which lasted a LONGGGGG time, as did his subsequent books. So, is there a connection between religion/belief and love. It depends on your definition of the terms "religion", "belief", and "love". God Bless you.

Although some, if not a lot of us believe that religion is the biggest business and as such- the biggest lie ever created. All religions would teach us how to love unconditionally for us to have a strong belief even without proof.
"Blessed are those who believe yet not see!"
All religions have in their agenda - world peace and as such would fill us with ideas of how we should love-you are right, religion brings love.
Science would contest that 'belief without proof' is insane and the feeling of love that beats in our heart is the same-we even love someone who beats us to a pulp.
The connection lies in our "heart". God lives in our heart! our heart tells us to love no matter what our brain tells us.
Religions would teach us the basics and the foundation of love for the conditioning of our minds yet we humans still follow our heart and most often break the rules of our faith to serve our purpose. It is the same with parents telling you not to love a person yet you will break all norms just to spend it with that "dear someone"

God is love, He gave us love and the ability to love, not only Him but the ability to love others. Love should take over your life, it is a pity it does not happen to the entire world, for if it did, there would be no wars, no conflicts. Why people turn away from love I do not know because in this day and age, love is about the only thing that is free

True you can't see GOD whoever that may be for you but you have faith in him yet you have never seen him.
I think Love is similar you know when someone loves you just by the way he/she kisses you.
There are some things in live that do not require too much of an explanation.
And God and Love are two of them

the connection between religion and love can only be held by those who actully hold the truth Larissa.
to be like a little child, is to have complete trust and complete love for everyone, and without fear, --- a little child that has never been abused has no fear of anyone or anything and doesn't know what a stranger is, all people are the same to them. no one is ugly to them, and color means nothing for they don't even know what color them themselves are. but it is the love they have for everyone they see.
It is the wonder, awe, trust, hope, & unpretentiousness knowing that God loves us and will lead us. It is AUTHENTIC, REAL, terribly HONEST, so SIMPLISTIC, and HUMBLE. Because we have FAITH that He WILL take care of us! And in turn, He empowers us with His Spirit to lead victorious lives!

Intruiging question! I think that it takes someone with lots of passion, trust and an equal amount of mercy to truly practice religion. So I would say that it's pretty much the same with love... without passion, trust and mercy it never works out. Allah knows best.

Hmmnn...
I am not sure....?
Think about it THIS way:
There is a potential "right" person for virtually everyone in the world [meaning a "love interest"].
Now consider how many atheist AND agnostic people there are in the world. These types of people SHUN all religion, yet they STILL find love, correct..?
:)
Just something to think about, right ...?

Love and religion can test who you are and the choices you are going to make in your life. They both have positive and negative influences in the choices you make. So yes I think they are very much related

I don't see a connection as such, becausewouldn't saying that there is a definate connection be saying there is no love without religion?
But I do in the sense that both are complex, and sometimes there is no logical explanation.
