A lot of people that are homosexual now where molested when they where kids. Not all but a lot. It could be a gender identity issue brought about from abuse as an infant or very young child. It seems to run in the family too. Is that from a pattern of abuse? or a genetic predisposition. I think its a little of both. Ultimately its a choice. Although the choice could be between a jelly donut and brocolli. I know what im chosing.

Take a minute and recognize this current wave of homophobia for what it actually is ;A Christian form of obsessive behavior .
The fact of that matter is that the Greeks of the Classical Age[ which is where this society came from ] openly practiced homosexuality and it didn't hurt their society at all in fact it may have helped them achieve their greatness because sexually open societies tend to be intellectually open societies also.
Interestingly enough the Greeks were not homosexuals [that's a Christian concept ] rather the Greeks were sexually omnivorous. Then the Greeks taught the Romans what they knew.
Your god doesn't care about the homosexual practices of other people, he only cares about the homosexual practices of his chosen people .
If your god cared about other people's sexual practices he would have taken well aimed photon torpedo and vaporized the Greek Civilization .He didn't do that ;He let them be and THAT is very instructive

There was actually a special on 60 Minutes about a year ago saying that it has to do with the timing of when testosterone or estrogen kicks in when in the womb and how much of it kicks in.
They cited examples and probable scenarios, like, the more boys a mother gives birth to, the chances of the youngest one being gay increases since the womb is "protecting" itself with less testosterone. They interviewed twin males where one was gay and the other wasn't. They didn't however explain thoroughly why girls would become lesbians via the womb, just focused on the male side, but it was pretty interesting either way...no pun intended...!

5% of the human population is Gay, and they all said that they knew they were gay since lil boys (same age that boys get attracted to girls). Also homosexuality has been found in every culture and country (even the most oppressed countries in which you can get killed for being gay) Homosexuality has been found in many animals too ( dolphins, dogs, cats.. etc.) Also in many identical twins, were each twin lives in a different country and culture from one another, the chance of both being gay was 92%. So I think you are born gay.

I am not gay so I am not really sure why someone would be gay.
I can speak about being straight though... I don't know if I was born straight or not, but I do know that I have been attracted to women since I was very young, and I would imagine that if I were gay I would have been attracted to men at about the same time.

Sexuality is not black and white. People fall into different places on the spectrum, so it's possible that exposure to certain situations could lead a person to engage in behaviors they otherwise might not normally engage in, but the latent desire would have still been there since birth. It simply took something out of the ordinary to wake it up.

I think it comes in degrees for some. I have known guys that were equally attracted to both sexes. So I do think they could decide to go either way and be happy. So it is possible that outside things would determine what direction they would go.
But the vast majority are decidedly only attracted to the same sex .

Homosexuality is handed out at birth just like hair and eye color.
Edit: Some people might come to their sexuality later in life, after living what appears to be a heterosexual lifestyle. However, it's my opinion that these are people who have had to keep their true selves hidden, for whatever reason. One is born gay, straight, black, white, green-eyed or brown. This isn't a choice.

Most are born that way. A few gravitate through life circumstances.

Well, homosexuality started when we were monkey like creatures millions of years ago, and only the alpha male go all the females. All the other males had to have sex with each other to suffice their sexual needs. So I believe that people are born gay because it is in our genetics.
