We gaze at the same stars,
the sky covers us all,
the same universe encompasses us.

What does it matter what practical system we adopt in our search for truth?

Not by one avenue only, can we arrive at so tremendous a secret.

I believe in God, and accept His absolute standards...but I have good advice for you to find the truth, regardless of your beliefs!

Remember that there are usually two sides to every story. "The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him." Prov. 18:17 NIV

Know that most people haven't thought through what they believe, and so the real task is getting people to think on their own, not just swallow your ideas because you are more persuasive than the next guy.

Keep in mind that in the battle of ideas, people are never the enemy.

There is nothing worse than trying to communicate with a person who is closed-minded.

Be honest with the facts you have, and be honest about the fact that you don't have all the facts

Each of us should be willing to learn and consider new concepts, so that we can grow in our understanding of what life is all about.

Develop a passion for learning, and never stop being teachable.

But again I remind you of God's Word. So...

This being said, there are two diametrically-opposed beliefs related to absolute truth: this is the 1st question you need to decide...

There ARE absolute realities, or standards, that define what is real and what is not. Thus, actions can be deemed right or wrong based upon how they measure up against absolute standards. God has unbending moral standards!
.... Or else ....
Do you assume "there are no absolutes that define reality". Everything is "relative" (good excuse for disobeying commandments), and thus there is no actual reality.

Then there is ultimately no authority (no God) for deciding if an action is positive or negative ... right or wrong!

Just remember that foolish idea, when you are assaulted by a guy who would get away with it, except for God's existence!

THe truth isn't a secret. Its been told...But people refuse to believe because its been told. I believe most people would prefer to not know the truth..so it seems..they prefer mysteries

What is the truth? Same question that Pilate asked Jesus. And, of course, the truth stood before him - but he didn't see it.

Science has been doing pretty OK in my book. It is much better than making up the answer.
