Yes. I have a brown belt in American Karate and a red belt in Shito Ryu. I currently attend Shito Ryu classes where I also help instruct. Shito Ryu - founded by Kenwa Mabuni. It is Okinawan Karate.
Mabuni Sensei was awesome. He is a descendant of the Royal Bodyguards of the Ryukyu Kingdom, hence the red crest his lineage carries.
