If religion promotes peace and love, then why is there more hatred displayed in this section of yahoo answers than any other?

I have seen equal amount of hate and scorn being shown by Atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews etc.
When it comes to hate, everyone seems to be as bad as each other, and everyone seems to be in denial of this.

Becuase people want to fight about their different interpretations of 'peace and love'... and also because religions promote many other things that are neither peaceful nor loving! Sad fact of life.
Politics is much worse than Religion & Spirituality, although the 'liberals eat babies' brigade has died down a bit lately.

It's something people hold more dear that a lot of other things in their life. if you lose everything, you'll still have belief.
That and all those ideals differ. It's bound to come to conflict.

People argue and disagree. Some people goad and attack others. They ask leading questions that bait and goad.
