I don't like to watch that type of thing personally. But I suppose it could be a sin if you get excited by it. If you get scared it is not.
That is just my oppinion. I believe everyone's relationship with God is personal and different. SO if you feel like you are sinning you should be true to that feeling. Only do things that you can feel good about, and avoid things that make you feel bad or guilty.
Remember God gave us all sense so we can try to figure out for ourselves what is right and wrong for ourselves.
But also remember that each of us has a different relationship with God and a different mission or a different destiny in life. So, I think telling other people they are sinning by watching these movies is probably not something Jesus would do, nor should we. :Let God be the judge.

I will be quite honest with you and say from the start that I don't think this is the right place to ask this question. Not because there are no clever people but because there is no simple answer. For what it is worth I do not think that either of the things you mention are sins. What is a sin ? Some might say it is some sort of law. Well on that score I don't think there is a law in the Bible that specifically forbids watching a film or playing a game (Like all law you will get "lawyers" who will argue one way or another with absolute conviction). If sin is not some sort of rule people say that it is a set of moral standards. Here I can see that people might say watch or play and you are committing a sin. I can see some strength in that argument. However until you watch or play how do you know whether it is moral? My view is this is that if you personally watched or played and afterwards thought this is a sin. Then watched and played again then I think you are in trouble morally and may have sinned (in some peoples estimation). So here we get to the crux of it If either side is right about sin then surely you cannot do anything if someone tells you it is a sin just on the off chance they may be right. I don't believe that is what God expected of us. He give us minds to think. Use yours and do what you believe is right. If you get it wrong admit it to him.

A sin is not what anyone tells you it is. It is what you feel.
Do you feel guilty or wrong about watching such movies or playing such games? If the honest answer is yes, then it's a sin.
Far too often, people allow others to tell them right from wrong. That's how organised religions get so much power which, unfortunately, they have consistently misused.
Every human being, apart from the insane, has a conscience. This should be the real guide to distinguishing right from wrong.

It's only a sin if you're watching them totally naked in a public theater. Wait a second! Adam and Eve clothed themselves because they became ashamed of their nakedness after Adam took a bite of the apple. The first sin. So maybe you're actually sinning if your clothed. Oh who knows! What are you so worried about anyhow? This whole sin thing fustrates the hell out of me. Wait a second! That may be a good thing.

no not at all playing violent video games is fun and does no harm to anyone.
some people say some video games are too violent but thats exactly why its a video game why would someone make a grand theft auto game where you couldn't steal cars and kill?
what would be the fun in that? and for the movies its not a sin, your just watching it you have nothing to do with what's going on and its not real, anyway

The Bible defines sin as "the transgression of the law." (1 John 3:4.) So if you know the Lord does not want you to engage in those things, then you break His commandment to you - you sin.

Matt. 15:11 says, What goes into a man's mouth does not make him unclean, but what comes out of his mouth, that makes him unclean.
That also goes for our minds as well, we as Christians should be careful of giving the devil a foot in the door so to speak, by letting in evil (that which is not good) into our lives weather watching horror movies or porn, listing to filthy music, or spending hours playing a violent games instead of spending time studying Gods word and trying to put s/thing good in our minds and lives.
ps. I like the scary movies too.

depends on your religion. I'm catholic, and it is considered a sin, because you are killing people in the games and killing comes from anger, which is one of the seven deadly sins. So yes its a sin, but its not a major one that you have to say at confession.
