First off, I don't think your question was sad or rude or anything like that. In answer to your question: no...I think the racing was better when he was around...it was RACING not this boring stuff we're watching (or not watching in some cases) now. I wish there were more drivers who drove like him! Nobody has the passion and fire and guts like he did...Stewart is the closest thing....but we'll just have to see how much he has once he climbs in those Toyotas.

Have you ever seen the movie Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? At the end where they track down all those people who said bad things about them and kicked thier ***. Well if you keep saying things like that about Dale Sr., this just might happen to you too.

Stock car racing is a lot less fun without Dale Earnhardt around to stir things up. Tony Stewart tries, but he is not Earnhardt.

What a terrible thing to say.
But you did ask the question so I`ll give you my answer
no I don`t think so.
Can`t figure why a person would even ask a question like that, If your trying to pick a fight (I`m really pretty gentle)
but about 6 or 7 of the ladies just above me will oblige ya.
Guaranteed..

I'm hoping your implying in terms of quality of the sport. If thats the case, it certainly alot safer for the drivers I suppose.

But in terms of quality of the racing, no. Its been going down hill thanks to corporate america and the loathsome tv packages. If you have to manipulate the sport to make it seem competitive (Lucky Dog rule, the Chase, IROC cars) then that should tell you something right there.

What a nice thing to say!

I never liked Dale, but I'm not going to spit on his grave either.

I don't see how his death made NASCAR a 'better' sport.
