I have 5 grown cats and everyone loved to play in the xmas tree when they were younger (they've outgrown it now). But the way I put a stop to it in the past was a spray. I can't think of the name, but its a spray that cats hate the smell of (but you can't really smell it) to help stop them from pee'ing on the carpets. Its basically a cat repellant spray, but works great on the trees too.

Other than isolate the cat from the Christmas tree room, there is not much you can do. Put the tree in a heavy duty stand with a tall base, not one of those flimsy kind.

When my cats were younger, I would put only unbreakable ornaments on the bottom 1/4. I still had one or two broken ornaments a year. Now that they are older, I have maybe one broken one a year.

Keep your best ornaments at the top.

We put our tree in a wooden box so our cat can't knock it over. Just put your more valuable ornaments near the top of the tree, and place the less valuable ones near the bottom. Your cats will probably still play with the ornaments, that's just their nature - especially kittens. But my cat is 5 yrs. old and he still plays with the ornaments.

I hate to say it but theres not much you can do! Do you kittens have claws? If they don't then what we did last year is only decorate with ordaments on the bottom that aren't break able so when my cat would play with them and knock them off it wouldn't cause any harm! However, that didn't stop him from drinking the water we had the tree in! Good luck!

Simply - in a room the kitties don't have access to.

I have a new kitten this year who will play with your eyelashes if you blink. I think I will forgo the tree this year as I couldn't be bothered putting it up for her to take down 3 minutes later.

i would just keep the tree wherever you want... unless you seriously think that they can knock over the tree, then i dont know... but i suggest put the breakable ornaments on the top, only the non breakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree.. hope this helps...

I would first just put the tree with out Christmas ornaments on it up to see what they will do.If they play with it or climb it don't put any thing breakable on it. If they leave it alone just start put thing on it not must at first and watch them to see what they will do then if they leave it alone just go ahead. If they don`t some wear out of there climbing area. Good luck.

In a closet and close the door, otherwise you just have to live with the fact that your tree is going to be molested. Get unbreakable ornaments and let the little ones have fun. It will be entertaining I can assure you.
