no contact?

I've a friend who has been sentenced to 15years max in prison in England. I'm not going to the details of his case. But he got into a huge fight and ended up banged up. I'd go visit him once every 2-3mths & he'd call once a week. now he's served at least 5 years of his sentance & now, for the passed mth no one has heard anything from him, no contact by phone or letters? we was waiting on our vo and it didnt come, when we phone to enquire they say contact the prison prest, so we did and he just says the guy is doing good and is enjoying himself? I mean what sort of an answer is that!? When I've spoken to my friend, he tells me how bad things are in there, and that its not big joke. The prest says he doesnt want any contact? but I feel this isnt true, its so out of character and I just dont know who else we can contact. I mean are we meant to just leave him with no visits for the next 10 years.I fear something may have happened? who can I turn to now? the law has its own rules.?

I cant go visit him without a VO and he needs to send one.

you need to just wait for him. when he leaves, he will need someone from the real world to help him. you should be that person.

Do you have a way to go visit him so that you can find out the truth for yourself?

Keep pursuing him. He may have gotten depressed or perhaps the stress of the situation is wearing him out and he's becoming delusional.

aww. honestly; why cant you go visit him!?
try visiting or call and demand to talk to him.
if he says it himself take his word though.
