yes, they do. rumballs are not baked, so the rum stays active, watch out.

it depends on your taste prefrences, heres the ingrediants
* 1 c. crushed vanilla wafers
* 1 c. ground pecans or walnuts
* 1 c. confectioners sugar
* 2 Tb. cocoa
* 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 Tb corn syrup
* 1/4 c. rum or bourbon (more for cook if desired)
Grind the nuts in a food processor until very finely chopped. This will take a minute or minute and a half.
Mix crushed (fine, but not to a powder!) cookies, nuts, sugar and cocoa. Add combined syrup and rum. Let sit for a few days in the refrigerator; the batter improves with age.
Shape into 3/4-inch diameter balls and roll in confectioners sugar.

Yes. That's why they're called "rum" balls.
The recipe I have calls for rum, dark corn syrup, walnuts, cocoa powder and powdered sugar... oh yes, and the vanilla wafer cookies. It's a sticky mess when you put it all together, but it's a delicious sticky mess.
Around my town, I'm known for my rum balls. Well, that and all the other cookies I make for Christmas, plus the fire vodka. I have standing orders for all of that. lol

mine always do. But those opposed to the consumption of spirits may use a non-alcoholic flavouring in place of real rum.

Yes, but more than likely they no longer have much alcohol. Acohol evapoartes rather quickly when heated, so if they were heated while cooking, they won't have much punch to them. Just the flavor.
