Victorville is about an hour and a half from LA, located in what called the high desert. Just over the San Bernardino mountains at the beginning of the Mojave Desert. Its one of the last areas in CA that has affordable housing. Many yards have some combination of dirt, rocks, and Joshua Trees. Unfortunately not much to do there unless you come down the hill.

Well, it is sort of isolated in Victorville. There is pretty much everything one would need, shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, etc..but the city itself is not very close to anywhere else. You will be about 2-2.5 hours away from Las Vegas, and about an 1-1.5 hours away from some other cities in the Inland Empire.

Victorville is in the middle of a very hot desert. Its also cold in the winter. So be prepared for great temperature variations.
