beccause my body fat has remained the same. I have scales at home and check it frequently. Why, why, why?

if you are using a device that uses bioelectrical impedance to measure the body fat % they are not accurate. get yourself some hand calipers off the Internet for $20 and learn how to take skin fold measurements on yourself.

Well, first the first few pounds lost were probably water loss and then you may have been losing too much muscle. Are you eating lots of protein and doing strength training?

The other reason could just be that those body fat scales are useless and you should considering investing in a pair of body fat callipers instead.
