That is not to bad of a deal I own a computer shop and support thease kind of question all the time if that is all she is going to be using it for this machine you have their should be more then enough for her. I personaly like Dell they make some nice laptops but I would see if you can get that laptop with windows xp home or pro home would be all she would need VIsta has issues let me tell ya. Thats the nice thing about Dell you can pick xp home pro or vista so I would highly recomend that same machine you chose but see if you can get xp home on it so you do not run into issues

I hope this helps

This is for the answer below mine
She is not going to be playing Uneal or some sort of graphic intesive game she is only playing some kids game crying out loud If it was a hard core gamer then I would recomend a xps or somthing like that calm down glad you do not work in my computer shop I would have to fire you. lol

Laptops are not the best choice for gaming because the built-in graphics capability often isn't adequate for many of today's computer games.

That said, you need to go to each game's website and find out the "Minimum Graphics" requirement. The game with the highest minimum graphics requirement is the number that you should use to choose a laptop. Gaming laptops are more expensive than non-gaming ones.

The link you gave is for a "Factory Re-certified" laptop, meaning it was returned under warranty, repaired and is being resold. Make sure the warranty is as good as you would get if you bought a new one.

Below is a list of the models Gateway recommends for gaming:

I'm assuming that these horse games aren't very high performance graphics wise so this computer should do fine. It doesn't list the video card so it is probably just an onboard one without any dedicated memory but since there is 1GB of RAM performance should be fine.
