I'm curious if there are people here to practice Asatru, and if any of those who practice can tell me about their religion.
I feel myself called to that religion, but even after researching it online I feel I don't know much about it still. I have Norse ancestry (swedish and norwegian) and feel it might be my bloodline/ancestry calling me to the religion.

I am Asatru. You are welcome to email me and I'll pass along information. There are some major differences from general paganism, Wicca and Asatru that confuses some.

For books: A Book of Troth by Edred Thorsson is a good start

Many people practice Asatru, Norse Heathenism, or Forn Sidr, all forms of the ancient beliefs of Northern Europe. The best start is to read the Sagas and Eddas to find out about the gods and heroes of the ancient age. See source documents.
This website lists many local Asatru organizations:

One thing I will caution is that Asatru has a highly developed sense of ethics, know as Orlog. If you're coming to Asatru to rid yourself of Christian moral restrictions, you may find that Asatru are even more ethical than Christians. We believe everything has a consequence, and bad actions yield bad consequences.

I starred this so Heathen Daughter and Boar's Heart might see the question. They both practice the religion you are looking at.
It is quite possible that your ancestry is part of what is calling you. This seems to be frequent in Pagans as it gives someone a place to begin. I just tell people that the Gods will choose whomever they will, even if that person is not from the people who originally worshipped them.

I do not know much about Asatru but I do agree that your bloodline might be compelling you towards this aspect of Paganism. So with that in mind...
May the blessing of Freya be bountiful in your life. May She always be present - guiding you, and blessing all that you creatively lay your hand upon.
Blessed Be.

One of my best friends practices Asatru and is a daughter of Freya. I find it to be a very beautiful religion and if you feel the calling, you should check out Asatru resources and find others in your area.
http://www.asatru.org/ is a good resource for getting in touch with other practicitoners.

http://www.irminsul.org/aw/aw.html is an excellent resource. They used to have an index by location, but I haven't perused it in about 5 years.
I have a good Asatruar or two in my contacts, so here's a star.
