Soft & Chewy Vanilla Butter Cookies:

30 min 20 min prep
36-48 cookies

1 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon butter flavor extract (optional)
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together Crisco, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, water, vanilla and butter-flavored extract until well mixed.
Add the flour, baking soda and salt to the mixing bowl and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls; slightly flatten and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until light brown.

Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 (3.4 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)

Method:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

2) Sift together the flour and baking soda, set aside.

3) In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.

4) Beat in the instant pudding mix until blended.

5) Stir in the eggs and vanilla.

6) Blend in the flour mixture.

7) Finally, stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.

8) Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.

9) Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Edges should be golden brown.

I just baked these yesterday and they turned out great! Nice and soft, perfect with a little icing on top.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon lemon extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 tablespoons sour cream
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt


Cream sugar, butter, eggs and extracts. Add in remaining ingrediants and stir. Scoop out and bake at 350* until edges begin to turn brown.

SOFT VANILLA COOKIES

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix long enough to be able to handle. Roll and cut on floured board. Bake at 375 degrees, leave in oven 5 minutes.

OLD FASHIONED SOFT SUGAR COOKIES

Sift together in large bowl:

3 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Add:

1/2 cup soft butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla or nutmeg

Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.

Add:

1/2 cup thick sour cream
sifted flour mixture

Preheat oven to 375-400F degrees.

Beat at low speed until well blended (1 1/2 minutes). Roll out lightly on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut and sprinkle with sugar.

Put on prepared cookie sheet. Dot a raisin in the middle and bake about 12 minutes at 375-400 degrees.
