More likely, atheism is a religion.
Atheism is not a choice, but a lack of faith.

>Is Atheism a religion and therefore not be taught in schools?
No. Religion is defined as involving the belief in, and worship of, some supernatural force or entity. Atheism does not involve this, therefore it is not a religion. Calling atheism a religion is sort of like calling bald a hair color, or silence a sound. It is part of the same array of religious viewpoints, but it is not actually a religion.
>This could mean no more atheism (YEAH).
It is unlikely that the fraction of people who are atheists will decrease significantly anytime in the foreseeable future. Ever since atheism as a recognized philosophy started back in the 17th and 18th centuries, it has pretty much continually been gaining on other philosophies. As more people are exposed to more information and evidence, it is likely that more people will become atheists in the future.

Atheism is not taught in schools, schools are to be taught with no bias. It is also not a religion otherwise it would not be called Atheism. Evolution is not a religion, to be a religion it would require worship. It is just a alternative theory on how the human race came around.

No, atheism is not a religion so it can be taught in schools in good countries (and should be since it is an important result from looking at the universe and how it works).

It would be hard to spin a lack of belief in deities into a religion. And no one is taught to be an atheist in schools now.
===
"atheism= evoultion theory Is it a religion?"

Atheism is not a religion. It has no religious texts, no church, no gods, no belief system. The only belief is that there is no god or gods. We are born atheist. Then we are spoon fed the mind virus that is religion before we are old enough to defend ourselves. Atheism can't be taught in schools because the religious majority and religious interest groups would freak out and stop donating to politicians campaign funds and stop voting for them. There is nothing to teach anyway. The class would last 5 minutes. "Class, there is no god. It doesn't exist. You have all been duped and brainwashed. I apologize on behalf of your parents. Class dismissed."

Atheism isn't a religion, it is a disbelief in religions. There really is nothing to teach about it so it already isn't being taught in the schools. Science is.... which is a very different thing from atheism.

Atheism is the lack of belief in gods.
And atheism in politics is nothing new, the founding fathers were firm secularists and Thomas Jefferson was an atheist. In fact, a large number of politicians in the US gov't is said to be atheist, they have to be secretive about it, or the ignorant public would end their political careers.

It is not a religion, Atheism is a lack of faith, it means we do no believe in a god or goddess of any kind and there is an explanation for everything if we search for it. And yes, it can be, it is taught in schools. Like the Bible and the Qu'an. Ever heard of World History and science, and the FCA?

If atheism is a religion, then NOT collecting stamps is a hobby.
Besides, wouldn't they have to START teaching it in our schools in order to STOP teaching it?
