Always trust your gut in situations like this. It may not be the spirit of a person, but of a guardian animal. Crap, like this scares the hell out of you, and you need all the support you can get when these things happen. Ask her if she wants to get out of the house a bit, and if she wants to talk about it let her talk, it helps her out a lot, and don't act skeptical, keep an open mind, this is your sister and she trusted you enough to tell you. If you can invite her to spend the night.
I am lucky I can't always see spirits, but my brother, grandmothers, husband, and two of my children can. I can hear them though and I hate it when they try to overtalk whomever I am trying to speak to. I blocked the 'gift of sight,' as everyone else in my family calls it but over time it has come back in bits and peices. Either way it is disturbing and hard to deal with because you can never be sure when it will kick in.
Just be a sister and be there for her right now, becasue she needs you.
And just an FYI: It's not like ghost whisperer, that is tv, we don't cross them over we just deal with them, because we were always told we were there to listen to them and nothing more.

This has happened to me. In fact, it IS happening to me, and i'm on medication, thank-you all You wise-achers.
It scared me silly for a long time. The experience changes slightly and it varies with what time of the year it grabs me. It is not psychic (so far as i know) but i can see why Your sister would think so, if this has never happened to her before. Tell her, please, that i said this. It is NOT normal, but it is also not dangerous in any way. Benedryl is not a good idea; it can make Your heart race, increasing the sense of anxiety. She should try for a mild tranquilizer from her doctor without telling him the whole story. If it's insanity, it's a benign form, and she doesn't need to get locked away!
The best thing she can do is stop worrying about it. Turn on a fan so she feels a REAL breeze. Play some relaxing music; take her cell phone to bed so she can call You if she gets freaked. Just deal. This too shall pass.

I think stuff like that happens a lot, but most people put up psychological walls that prevent themselves from seeing it. The denial becomes automatic.
I would ask her to consider learning shamanic journey in order to get more information about these things. Even better, a local shaman might be able to shed light on what is going on, as well as ask enough questions to see if this is a spiritual thing or if she needs to see a western doc.

Have her do some research about sleep paralysis and dreaming while awake. (Google) She may not have the classic issues, but it sounds similar.
There’s a common experience, and I’ve been through this myself, where the subject wake up, but is unable to move and imagines that someone is staring at them or may even see a figure (can look like the grim reaper). The person is essentially dreaming while awake. It can be incredibly frightening.

If it bothers her that bad tell her to come over to your house and take a nap. But I've never heard of a ghost killing or even hurting anyone and I've heard a lot of ghost stories so I think she'll be okay.
Also as usual I agree with Lab Grrls deep wisdom, if someone's going to die thats just how it is.

Did she have any paranormal experiences before, or premonitions that came true? As a precaution don't ignore her, but I really think she had a trauma or something and she should see a psychologyst.

She should take two benedryl before laying down.
If someone is going to die it's not her job to stop it.
