On 1 May 2004 Poland joined the European Union. As a Polish citizen you therefore have the right to work in the United Kingdom. You should apply to register with the Home Office Worker Registration Scheme as soon as you have started a new job.
You will find under related documents the leaflet about what your rights are in the UK. This includes information on what you should do before leaving Poland, and important contact details in Poland and the UK.
As soon as you start working in the UK you must complete application form WRS giving your name, address, date of birth, nationality and employment details. You can get an application form and more information by telephoning 08705 210 224 or visiting www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk or www.workingintheuk.gov.uk.
With your first application you will need to send a letter from your employer confirming that you are working, two passport photos, your passport or ID card and a payment of £90.
* If you do not apply within one month of starting a job your employment will become illegal*
You cannot be required to work more than 48 hours a week, averaged over 17 weeks (over 26 weeks if you are working on a farm) unless you have agreed in writing that you are willing to do so.

The only thing you can do is for her to return home to Bangladesh. and apply for a fiancee VISA. but because you do not meet the requirements for her to settle in the UK which is £18600. Then your VISA would be turned down. Plus are you a British citizen? And what VISA are you on? These are two very important questions. You say you are self employed on a low wage which shows that you are not a very skilled worker or have a high education. Then best thing to do would be you to move back to Romania and then apply from there for your girl friend. Once she has got Romania citizenship you then could both move to the UK as EU citizens.

Sorry mate, our Country is full up, and not taking any more free loading immigrants. Nothing personal, we've just had enough!!! fudge cake, have you wondered WHY so many Brit's are quitting this Country? We are not even allowed to celebrate Christmas IN OUR OWN COUNTRY anymore, our hospitals and schools cannot cope under the strain, our benefits, and housing systems are a sham, and I should know, I work for my local council office, and have witnessed WITH MY OWN EYES,immigrants, and ethnic minorities, being housed in front of British people who have been on the housing list for years. Is there any wonder we are sick and tired of the floods of people coming into the Country.
IF anyone doesn't believe Britain is a soft touch, why do so many people leave their own Countries to come to come here?? And YES If I could afford to, I would quit too, but I know I wouldn't get such an easy ride in whatever Country I ended up in.

its so funny reading peoples answers!
u all get so stressed when someone wants to come over here to UK!
its fine for the British to immigarate to Australia, Spain wherever but if someone wants to immigrate to here u all get abusive!
if the people that come here arnt causing trouble then whats the big deal?
thats rubbish UK is full up, for every immigrant that comes in a British will be going out to immigrate elsewhere in the world.
come on over and bring a few others with u just to tip the anti-immigrants over the edge!
the bloke from cornwall:
i do agree with u about the housing im in a two bedroom council house myself with 3 children, which i dont mind i love my home and at the moment while by children are very small its ok size wise, but i know i will have to wait 5 years before im moved, and so ive heard immigrants come here and get a 3bed property straight away.
but, i can see it from another side aswell, that some immigrants come here to get away from war torn countries, some not all.and i feel for the small children that are born into that when we have so many nice things here, its sad.
maybe i need to look into it more and see what is really going on.
one thing that does make me furious is people who mess it up for the decent immigrants, some guy askd a Q 'can a marry a skank to obtain visa and then if i divorce her can i still stay' what an idiot! its people like him who are messing it up for my husband to come and be with me and his his children!
there more iv been on here and read what everyone fuses about, i hate to admit that i can see there is a big problem but i cant help feeling for the people who come here for salvation.
before i get rude remarks, my husband works and hes not going to fill up the country.

Nip down your local corner shop and ask for Abdul. Twenty quid should seal the deal.
