If Christians say that Hitler was so evil, then why are there so many jew-hating christians? An example of this is the fact that a number of them believe the church has replaced the jews as the chosen people. Many of them say that the jews killed Jesus, when it was actually a Roman conspiracy. Many of them extoll the many virtues of Martin Luther, a heretic and an obvious jew-hater. Martin Luther turned against the jews when they wouldn't join his revolt against the roman catholic church in the 16th century. He went on rants about burning jewish homes to the ground, saying childish things like angels in heaven dancing when a jew farts, etc etc, seriously. He even inspired the belief system of Hitler. Why is there anti-semitism amongst professing christians?

I agree with you; I think it is ignorance (and yes, I'm a Christian). Jesus's last day of freedom as a human was on Passover--there would NOT have been mobs of people in the squares as they would have been preparing for the Seder. People forget Jesus was a practicing Jew himself and spoke Aramaic. Martin Luther was not a heretic but he did have anti-Semetic tendencies; however, the Catholic Church did the most damage with their Inquisition (not only, but predominantly Jews were persecuted and killed). I've never heard that Luther gave Hitler ideas--Hitler got those ideas from teachings of the Aryans in what is now India and distorted them--the same teachings that produced the caste system in Hindu India. Hate knows no boundaries--most other religions in the world have persecuted Jews without any cause. The Catholic Church provided the most damning "evidence" against Jews BTW.

just so you know i dont hate jews or christians
"fact that a number of them believe the church has replaced the jews as the chosen people. Many of them say that the jews killed Jesus, when it was actually a Roman conspiracy"
if you read the bible you would know that the reason christians believe that the jews are no longer the chosen people -and by that they mean they are now no longer the only ones who can get close to god-is because when jesus died, the time of the gentiles had ended meaning that before that only jews born jews could be gods people, israel, but when he died, all people could come and be gods people or his simbolic israel.
Also, the roman government official named pilate tried to release jesus but the "jews" would not have it they rathered have a known murderer released than jesus. so yeah.
in any case i think people that hate any one for their beliefs is a moron, and yes some christians are morons, but as a husband and son of to wonderful christian women i have to say not all of them are that close minded. I myself am not a christian. just so you know.

Of direction they did not. History is full of Christians persecuting, mistreating, and murdering Jews. It is a dismal side of historical past that has divided Jews and Christians. But bear in mind a Christian country (Britain) made the Balfour assertion for the construction of a Jewish fatherland in Palestine. And the USA was once the primary to understand Israel as a state even as the Muslim armies have been looking ahead to the final Brit to depart so that they would invade. Also there have been many massacres that Muslims inflicted on Jews in Palestine earlier than independence. And remember that the Dome of the Rock is at the high truly property for the Third Temple

I really must find a book on Martin Luthers life. I only heard the good parts. He must have gone mad. I truly cannot understand anti-semitism. We read daily that the Jews were God's chosen. What a rich heritage they have.

Anti semitism has been spewed by the church for 2000 years.
You think they're gonna change now?
It's better to be an outspoken Athiest than a hypocrite who claims to be Christian but is full of hatred.

Replacement theology is a false belief that is taught in several denominations. It is false because God is still in covenant with the Jewish people. We must stand with the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. All who stand against the Jewish people and the state of Israel will incur the wrath of God.

I am Catholic and the first thing we Learn about Jesus was that he was a Jew.
The bible teaches us that human hate and anger are misleading and satans Tool of Corruption.
Christians Also Learn to Love our neighbors, regardless of who they are but to expect them to love us back is Vainglorius.

Men should not and can not be full of hatred towards others and claim to be Christian. It's ok to help those, or pray for them, or forgive them. But they should not hate their enemies back. It is written that you should have love for your enemies. It's easy to hate your enemies, but it takes a strong man, to forgive and love your enemies.
Those Christians you speak of, are not the type of Christians you would consider role-models. Same as Lyndsay Lohan is not a good example of a positive teenage role model.
