I agree with most of it, but the last one should read:

"Our beliefs are based on proof and lack thereof."

Also, I wouldn't capitalize the "a" in atheist. It's a little too formal for my tastes.

Have a good one!

My beliefs are based on my personal reasoning. I think even with all the "proof" there is, there could still be a chance of a higher being out there somewhere, I just don't think there is. That, is what makes me an atheist.

I don't agree with those statements. For example, I've seen many bandwagon atheists on here, those who follow the lead of other more outspoken atheists, those who couldn't put up a good argument for their own personal beliefs because they have never really thought about it for themselves. I don't consider those people to be free thinkers.

Some atheists are not free-thinkers, so I wouldn't agree with that statement. Also, I don't hold beliefs, just ideas which are primarily based on logic and proof.

1. We are free thinkers.

I don't believe this is true. Or thought is largely governed by our previous life history.

2. "Our beliefs are based on logic"

Physical Evidence plays a much greater part of our beliefs than logic does. At least we use physical evidence, that is more than most theists do.

3. "Our beliefs are based on proof"

Only those beliefs about mathematics and logic. No beliefs about the real world can be based on proof.

I'd say most atheists would consider themselves free thinkers.

Use of the word 'beliefs' is problematic because atheists have no beliefs in reference to god, gods, mythologies, religions etc. So to say they have beleifs is incorrect.

That doesn't mean atheists don't or can't have other beliefs or have beliefs about other things.

For example, I believe I am typing at my pc right now.

I also believe that I will go home around 5 pm.

See the difference? There are many things covered by the word 'belief'. Its a broad spectrum.

I dont really know what being a free thinker means.

I dont have any religious beliefs, so logic and proof dont come into it.

Its up to the believers to demonstrate that their beliefs are logical and based on evidence.

Anyone can be a free thinker. Atheists take it a step further and consider deities as well.

We don't have a belief. Atheism is not a religion.

Actually we lack belief because there is NO proof.

The first two certainly are. The third is a bit of an overstatement. It would be more accurate to say that it is based on the evidence rather than calling it a "proof" since you really can't prove that the Universe wasn't created by green monkeys either.

Free thinkers no way. As long as an atheist tries to change the mind of another free thinker then that point is moot, since i should be free to have my own beliefs.

Agree and I'm not an atheist. An atheists knowledge is based on their evaluation of evidence. For me, I have no evidence and don't really need any (although my beliefs are complicated and not Christian) but I understand the logic behind their decision as well as their need for proof and that they have found the freedom to think as they truly wish. Exceptional characteristics from my perspective.
