Who said atheists don't care about theism? I care.

Of course they care. Some laws are made because of religion. And also, some christian denominations go around knocking on doors sunday mornings. Some of them have an agressive way of preaching and trying to impose. I'd say those are great reasons to care

Because it is fun to point out that the Emperor has no clothes on.

I do care about theism. Every time it pushes it's way into my life, and the lives of those I care about, I care.

Because they get at me first. They give me crap about how I'm not a christian and how I'll die and go to hell and burn for eternity if I don't accept Jesus into my life. It also doesn't help when most of the major figure-heads of the religion they're talking about have absolutely NO idea what they're talking about. I ignore it at first, but it starts to get REALLY annoying.

So I spout off everything that contradicts their religion. All the simple things (which is still a very broad field.). Then they shut up. That's the only reason why. : )

"Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligle propositions."
~Thomas Jefferson

We care about creating an environment of free thinkers with a solid moral fiber and good intentions for all sentient beings. Generally speaking, religion doesn't help that cause.

Err...I care. The last time we left them go unchallenged we got the Dark Ages, so we have to care.

Besides, its fun to tease them. And there is certainly a fascination with how anyone could believe that way.

Thanks for the giggle, Russj, and STOP THAT it tickles!

Many of these answers show that clearly no one has agreed to disagree. Something "fascinating" is not generally called "stupid." And, yes, Christians can be annoying, but only dangerous when they are PRETENDING to be Christian. And who among us is so gullible as to think this latest war (or any war) is truly about religion?

If Christians are so loving and caring towards their peers, then why do they always tease gays and lesbians?

We do care about theism. We care about it being pushed into society by way of legislation and we care about creationism being taught to our children in science classes.
Religious belief is a deeply personal thing, please keep it that way.

Because you keep asking questions such as this one, opening yourself up to said teasing. And besides, it just such good fun.

*pokes Christian with a stick, giggling maniacally.*
