I'm making some appetizers for thanksgiving and I have a really yummy artichoke dip recipe. The problem is I think it needs a bit more spice and I can't decide what spices to use. Right now the recipe is just marinated artichoke hearts, cream cheese, parmeson cheese, mayonaise, and garlic. I was thinking about maybe adding paprika, but I wanted to ask some people who know a bit more about seasonings than I do. (I'm only 16) So if any one has any ideas of a good seasoning or ingredient to add I would really appreciate it.

Add a bit more garlic, white pepper if you have it otherwise regular black pepper will do and a pinch of cayanne. That should give it a nice boost.

When I make artichoke dip, I don't use cream cheese, but use only mayonaise. And I add about 1/2 tsp hot sauce or some red pepper flakes to give it a zing. On occasion I will use some diced jalapenos in addition to the diced green chilis. Here's a recipe you'll enjoy:

2 cans artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 can diced green chili
1 cup mayonaise
1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove garlic minced
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce
1 T lemon juice
2 cups shredded parmesan cheese

Blend the above and bake at 350 degrees until bubbling and golden. Serve with blue corn tortilla chips.

Those are pretty standard ingredients for that type of dip. What I'd do is get some jumbo lump crab meat and make crab/artichoke dip.

Try a little minced onion and some dill weed. (Not dill seeds - these are very different). And just a little dill weed.
