Hello,

I would suggest you go to the Wikipedia and look at the educational background of many religious peoples and their leaders, even the last two popes and you will see they are smarter than most of us. Even Ratzinger, aside from religion is an accomplished pianist, specializing in Mozart and speaks several languages. The only sites I've seen address more IQ data on religious vs non- religious which does not really measure educational accomplishments.

That said if I wanted to study Islam and learned to be highly fluent and write in Arabic then memorize a large book like the Koran, would you think I was of low intelligence or have a IQ of 50 - 80?

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

Actually my sister is the Principal of an ACE school. Accelerated Christian Education. Her students consistently score well above the national average. In fact many of her students are doing grade level work above where they would be in the public school system. I also had a friend who went through a similar schooling who decided to go to a public school for the last year. He won top honours. So any correlation is subjective to what is available.

You don't need education for religiosity, you need wisdom. All the education in the world will not give you wisdom. Some of the most foolish people I have encountered have umpteen letters after their name and have been totally lacking in commonsense. Whereas some of the wisest people I have met had very little formal education.

Secular education is actually anti-wisdom, and is a form of brainwashing. It expects people to conform to the state-approved curriculum, which frowns on original thought, or any views which might challenge the status quo, politically correct, materialistic, flavour-of-the-day, consensus view of the secular establishment.
This militates against spiritual truth, which has scant regard for such whimsical opinion, or for the latest, greatest, scientific hypothesis.
Thus education encourages shallow modes of thought and discourages the logic, reason and commonsense which are the hallmarks of the truly wise, and an essential element of the Christian faith.

Keep in mind, many of these studies are conducted on a world wide basis, including third world countries where many times there are no schools or poorly operated ones, but are heavily populated with believers. This drives down the score for believers. When these studies have been done in Europe or America exclusively, the results are neck and neck.

He said come as you are!
There should be NO distinction between the poor and the rich WHEN IT COMES TO FAITH in Christ Jesus.
We shouldn't underestimate the education and intelligence of Jesus asking questions at 12 in the temple .
We are children of a King and that's the highest honour and privilege there is.
Yes there are people who are Christian lawyers ,doctors and sceptical scientists turned christians.

the BA degree ( Born Again)- A soul surrendered and yielded to christ is what's needed.

Most of us could boast of how much training and Education we have, but at the end of the day it comes down to this:

' What would it profit a man to gain this whole wide world and
LOSE HIS ONLY SOUL'.......

I can't think of any. If Dr. billy Graham was still alive maybe you could ask him. I know you think you are funny, but all you are showing is hatred. Now THAT is ignorance. You remind me of the little girl or boy who is standing outside the circle and wants to get in and play but is never asked. He gets mad and begins to make fun of those on the inside, secretly hoping to be waved inside. Let me offer that invitation to you now. God is waiting for you to say yes. It is not about intelligence. There are some very smart people who are missing out on the greatest love they will ever have. Don't let you be one of them.

I want to know about the I.Q's and educational levels of people who think Joshua stopped the sun.
Also people who think Jesus rose into the sky and became a god.
How about a poll or survey asking people's belief about a host of Bible stories, and then asking them their educational level.

Psalms 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: His praise endureth forever.
