Since you didn't give your age it's hard to answer. But in my days of dating...a girl could ask a guy to go on a picnic and she prepares the food and drinks and maybe go play tennis or go to the park just to people watch and spend time together.
You could get some friends together and have day at the zoo and invite him. Or invite a bunch of friends to go to the movie and invite him. But if you invite, YOU PAY.

If he likes you, he will ask you out. The worst thing you can do is ask a man out. Men know what want, it's very clear. Don't set yourself up for rejection, or surprises down the road.

Well you dont want to be chicken and have your friends ask him out for u. i would ask him if him realy like me and then i would ask him to hangout with you and then once u guys are cool around each other then ask him out!

Guys always like it when a girl goes after him. That and we don't always get the signs that girls like us. And even if it is a sure thing that you'd go out with him it's still difficult to get the courage. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU ASKING HIM OUT.

Why don't you ask him?
If you like him then be grown up about it and ask him out for a drink or something else if your not old enough, i.e a meal.

Keep smiling. Talk to him lots. Be friendly. Hug him when you see him. Talk about plans for the weekend - maybe hint that you don't have anything to do. If he is interested and not completely shy, he will take the hint.
