I feel that amnesty is the way for a better America. My parents are undocumented and I was born here. I go to college on grants and plan to graduate from medical school in another 2 years. I plan to use my education to help the undocumented people here that have been shut out of heatlhcare by the racist American system.

At this point, Amnesty is our only viable option. There are millions of undocumented workers here in the US and it would only cost the American tax payers more money to deport them all. However, I must also say that those who are here must now take the proper steps to becoming a legal resident/ citizen of the United States. And with citizenship, they can receive drivers' licenses and purchase auto insurance. They should also be offered ESL (English as a Second Language) classes that are free through non-profit organizations or they should pay for them.
The US must also enforce the immigration laws we already have and secure our borders to the North and South and on the coasts as well (ie. containers and ships that come into our ports). The US must crack down on those who would hire and exploit undocumented workers, because without those jobs, they would have no reason to come here to America. We need comprehensive immigration reform not billion dollar fences. As fences do not make good neighbors.
I truly appreciate the Hispanic culture and all that it can add to the melting pot that is America, but the Hispanic community can still hold on to those ties while trying to better assimilate themselves into our American culture. I also truly believe that Latino Americans consider themselves to be Americans and want nothing more than to be assimilated into our great country and to be treated as equals here in the land of opportunity!
NO Human Being should ever be called "illegal!"

What a load of absolute rubbish!

First off, stop playing semantic games you aren't equipped for. "Undocumented" persons don't qualify for "amnesty." Amnesty can only be granted to "criminals," like those who have have violated our sovereignty as well as our laws.

As far as our "racist system," there's a much easier answer. Take the education (courtesy of our racist system) received back across the border and do something, directly, to help the people of your parents country end the corruption and ignorance that makes it so intolerable that its citizens are left no choice other than to violate our laws, sneaking into our country like thieves in the night.

The fact is that those on your side of the question are the ones who continually argue that Hispanics are somehow better suited to work here in substandard jobs under substandard conditions than any other ethnic group. Clearly, this is the argument of a flaming racist.

Finally, don't presume to classify yourself with Native Americans. There is no correlation whatsoever. Nothing was "stolen" from Mexico. Mexico started a war, which they lost along with a good chunk of territory that they could have reclaimed if they hadn't been so stubborn. In fact, most of Mexico, including Mexico City, is not a U.S. territory today purely due to the benevolence of the U.S. and its people.

i'm a 1st Gen Mexican-American or in step with risk i think of that the concern must be solved through applying deporting the unlawful immigrants, then securing our borders, the two north and south. Then we are waiting to purpose making the the criminal immigration technique extra advantageous handy, via fact heavily, optimal human beings do no longer additionally recognize the strategies to those questions. The regulation is that if any Cubans land on our soil with out being captured interior the water earlier, then they're at as quickly as made voters. additionally in the event that they're working from Cuba, then they're no longer communists. regardless of if i'm a 1st Gen Mexican-American, my roots hint me lower back all a thank you to Germany on my father's side, and Italy and Spain on my mom's side. enable's no longer make it a race conflict, and in case you likely did, you would be against your guy or woman via fact we are the same. no longer that anybody good it is making it.

Once again you are wrong ! Wrong on every point you have made. Not only are your facts incorrect I have a feeling you don't like my country. Amnesty is wrong as well ! But wait a minuite just as you can't serve on the jury of your own trial..... If you aren't a legal resident you have no say in whether we adopt amnesty or not. How many of you ignorant people asking tilted misinformed questions is it gonna take before you realize that this country is great and we welcome all who come legally. You are just gonna have to deal with the fact that we have laws and unlike Mexico's our laws actually mean something. Finally your last point is enough to make my blood boil. Our Racist healthcare system ...... :( you really have no clue do you ??? Do you have any idea how many emergency clinincs have been shut down in just the Los Angeles area due to their inability to refuse treatment to illeagals....... maybe you could use that education that undoubtably my tax dollars will pay for to learn something besides propoganda.

If you really believe that then get your check book out to pay the blacks for slavery Little miss citizen.

First of All, the Bit about you being in Med School is a patent lie, because if you were, you'd be Against Amnesty. Amnesty = Socialized medicine= Doctors pulling down what teachers do now & not being able to call thier own Shots.

Do yourself a favor-Grow up. The fact tha this country once belonged to endless tribe of native americans does not entiltle illegals to amnesty. Your logic is Sorely flawed.

Nope, I don't support amnesty. We tried it and it only led to an exponential growth in the number of illegals. Making the same mistake twice would be just plain stupid.

The Mexicans that were here when the US took over were offered citizenship. If your ancestors had been here, they would be US Citizens. They weren't here. Therefore they have no right to this land.

I was born here. I didn't steal anything from anyone. Accept it or don't, just quit whining about something that happened 100's of years ago to people you aren't related to.

No amnesty ever. It has nothing to do with being a racist. These people are criminals. They can not respect our laws enough to come here legally, screw them. Most will not learn the language. This is the USA and we speak English. Should a foreign country make available everything to me in English if I move there illegally? I would think that if I truly desired to be in that country I would assimilate myself best as I could and start by learning the language.
Edit: Just a side note, nice of you to use a system which you should not have any entitlement to. You and your ilk are a blight on society.
EDIT: You sold it you raving lunatic. Then the rest you lost in a war. Sorry that you did not learn logic and history in the FREE education you are sucking from the system.

Just one more thing. I suggest you take a long hard look at the MEXICAN laws on ILLEGAL immigration. Funny how they will not tolerate it in that country but ENCOURAGE their own citizens to do it so they can have dollars propping up their failed system. If I were to LEGALLY move to Mexico I could never own land. So tell me little girl, who is the racists?

I neither support or oppose amnesty. The best way to go would be to create a journeyman program with Latin American countries that would allow skilled American labors to travel to Latin America to work at fair pay rates for 6 months at a time. That would help build up the economy and infrastructure of those countries. In exchange, we would allow the same countries to send their workers here 6 months at a time to work for fair pay rates under the condition that they return home for at least 3 months between the 6 month working seasons. Everyone wins, we get good labor that Americans won't perform because of wage laws, help out people who would otherwise be considered criminals for nothing other then trying to improve their lives, and help build up their countries so that the workers wont have to leave and come (t)here for work. After a few years the need for massive amounts of cross boarder workers wont be needed and the amount of people in the program will stabilize.

Absolutely not. If your parents had came here as legal immigrants, they would have been welcomed with open arms. They should be sent back to wherever they came from. Since they were illegal, you should not be considered legal either. I hope you have now became a legal citizen. Your parents also. If you are truly an American though, you should be working to help America and not to hurt it.Racist Americans? They are paying for your college education aren't they? Our own citizens are going without health care because our government is helping the illegals. I had a best friend die with cancer because he could not get health care. Don't tell me how horrible we are to illegals.

No, I don't support "amnesty" for the illegal alien criminals.

You don't even talk like an American. You SAY you were born here, yet you say "YOU came and stole OUR land". If you were born here, OUR land is YOUR land.

Sounds like a troll to me....

I support a liberal immigration policy, so it can be easier to come to this country, but as a immigrant my self, I dont believe in amnesty. I had to wait 5 years to get my greencard, then waited another 5 years to apply for citizenship. It is just not fair to those who wait in line.

You can break the law.
