They give me the creeps, too. The writers of the Left Behind series have caused thousands of people to read the Old Testament more. Many Christians believe that those preachings and stories were not for their time but for a future yet to come. Jesus tells us that no one knows when that time will come. Jesus tells us that those writings were for the people at that time. To say that the same things are going to happen in the future, in my opinion, limits God's creativity. Yes, eventually the world will end but how and when is not our concern. Jesus tells us that today is all we need to worry about. People who are writing and preaching about those things are making a lot of money. I don't think they are hoping for the end of the world because they are making so much money speculating about it in the present time.

I don't believe you are in any physical danger. I have to admit with all of the monumental natural disasters occurring, I wonder myself it the time is coming. I'm not hoping for it and I don't dwell on it. After all, if it IS time there isn't anything I can do about it. I just hope that it is quick and painless for all that I know and love.

This is another generalization and of course you would have extremes within any generalized group.
Personally, I look forward to the completion of God's plan for the benefit that it will be for all those who believe. I want it to come sooner to stop the suffering of those who will be lost and yet not born. But I also want it to come later so that more may be saved.
Hope that helps.

I guess it sort of depends. If they try to predict when exactly everything will happen, they're wrong, because the Bible says NO man wlll know the date or time of the day of His return.
If they say certain things will happen, that's true, if what they say lines up with the Bible.
Check out Revelations. It talks alot about this certain thing.

An end to poverty, crime, violence, war, disease, old age? Yes, because it will make earth a paradise.
But Christians do not want others to die...Hence they preach. Matthew 24:14, 10:12-15, 40. So people will have warning, be able to question/learn and gain life.

No I don't really think that they believe what they say.Of course Apocalypse is something that is going to happen someday but these people are just using it to get others attention. They are selfish people that think they know everything.Noone is capaple of talking about what God will do.And no,I'm not afraid that they will harm me cause they're not mentally ill, they just want you and me and everybody to feel that way.Take care

Some do hope for it.
And no, I have never felt afraid of them. I have met hundreds of Dispensationalists who look forward to the end of time, and not one of them would ever hurt a fly. Just because they believe that something is going to happen doesn't mean that they want to initiate it. If you believe that a kid in traffic is going to be run over, that doesn't mean that you want him to get run over.

Bingo, the scariest thing about Christians is that if a mushroom cloud were to appear above New York City, they would think its a good thing.
I have seen Christians ranting here about how it is misplaced to care for the environment, save rainforests, endangered species, etc., because the world will soon end. Political issues like war, national debt, global warming, have no resonance among people who think the world is ready to end. To have so many such people in our nation scares the sane among us, who are hoping for a future for our children/grandchildren.

Why are you listening to these nuts ? Have you a brain which you will use to discredit them or do you believe all you hear.Hellfire and Damnation are always used to engulf the ignorant. What kind of God would cause an Apocalypse and destroy those whom he created ?
