Not sure if you are using a traditional bread cube dressing or cornmeal of what so I will generalize. I like to add sauteed celery and onions to either type. If cornmeal I like to add a little cilantro minced up or parsley. If bread stuffing, I throw in some cranberries right off the bog, small and tasty, but store bought will work too. Also like to mix in some cooked wild rice to either as an added crunch and texture thing.

Delicious. Don't be afraid to experiment. You can always not do it that way ever again and provide your guests this year with a keepsake memory if you screw it up. I could tell you stories about past ones people occasionally remind me of.

Good luck!

Cook 3/4 lb of Jimmy Dean sausage along with 1 small chopped onion, 3-4 stalks celery, and a large bell pepper. Drain well. Prepare stuffing according to box directions. Combine with the sausage mixture... toss well. You may want to add 1/2 or 3/4 can chicken broth to the mixture, you don't want it to dry out. Cook for around 30 minutes. Nice !!

Try some dried cranberries or crumble up some sausage meat, fry it and mix the sausage into the stuffing. If you're not stuffing it into the bird remember to spoon some of the turkey drippings over the stuffing- but save some to make gravy with.

Browned ground sausage would be great! You could add some extra sauteed veggies...like celery, carrots, onions! I never make mine with water I always use chicken stock (not broth)! Hope this helps! Happy Thanksgiving!
