If I buy a cell phone on ebay and get something to substitute it like a brick or something of equal weight how would I get my money back, how would PayPal/eBay know that he sent me something else? Would I win the dispute? Its hard to say because even though there are people that this happens to, cant someone just as easily say that they didnt get the cell phone when they really did?

PLEASE ANSWER! Thanks so much.

This is why it's important to know your seller. Read the seller's feedback and make sure that there are no other buyers who have had problems in that regard. Check for a HIGH number of positive feedbacks as well as a high ratio.

I've seen sellers with over 10,000 feedbacks and less than a dozen negatives. I've also seen people with only a few hundred total but with several dozen negatives. It's the ratio which will tell you the story. Don't buy from anyone with less than a stellar rating. (98% or better!)

In addition, check the seller's recent history. Has the seller been idle for many months and then suddenly selling high ticket items? Could be a stolen account.

Has the seller been selling clothing and suddenly selling electronics? Several hundred auctions listed at once, with ridiculously low pricing?

Take the time to know the product, take a few breaths when the deal seems too good to be true and make an educated buying decision and you'll have less problems. There is no guarantee, of course, but taking the time to research your deal can mean the difference between getting a cell phone and getting a brick.

I'm sure you can file a claim, as well as leave the seller a negative review to prevent others from buying from him/her. But remember the old adage....buyer beware! You get what you pay for, and sometimes that results in you getting ripped off.

i do no longer think of its a bf subject as much as that's a human beings subject. human beings choose to get applications. i understand i do. if i'm getting a kit i'm excited. sounds like suitable excuse to purchase stuff from ebay particularly than the save.

You're more likely to just not get ANYTHING if someone is trying to screw you. I'm sorry, I honestly don't know how they would handle this. But I have bought small things before, for just a few bucks, and they never sent it.
