O how you ought to thank your heavenly King!
... you should render all the thanks and praise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that God who has created you, and has kept and preserved you, and has caused that ye should rejoice, and has granted that ye should live in peace one with another --
Mosiah 2:19&20
Yes, I know it's not in the Bible -- I welcome all comments which are not derogatory or demeaning

It makes me wonder how much power my soul possesses to give thanks with, and if I do.

Thank you. I would be much more thankful though if it would snow before I head back to AZ. A trip to Utah in the winter without snowboarding is not a trip worth taking. I will not comment on the negative closed minded answers since I am positive and it feels good to stay that way. I am grateful everyday, but when I come home and help out my family I am the one who feels pretty lucky.

What a incredible verse, one in each and every of my favorites. The "ye could press forward with a steadfastness in Christ," area helps me remember that I could DO some thing, and the "having a appropriate brightness of desire, and a love of God and of all men" area tells me the form of suggestions-set I could have - a hopeful one, with love. and then of course there is the promise that if we try this through "feasting upon the observe of Christ, and undergo to the tip" we can return to our Heavenly Father and function eternal existence. magnificent!

I can live with that, even some "So call Christians" cannot recognize goodness and virtues when they see it.
Come to think of it, some also have the atitude that, every one can interpret the Bible, no matter how differently they are, it will be OK, but when a LDS Mormon gives a interpretation, it will be totally incorrect.

Even if the naysayers don't like the source, they should still be able to appreciate the sentiment. There is nothing in that verse for anybody to find objectionable. Why do they reject sound doctrine just because of its questionable (in their eyes) source?
Amen, sister.

That's a great verse, especially since it's Thanksgiving Eve.
Thanks.

Wow- seems that some of those other Christians aren't able to acknowledge good they see it.
(Dear Father, please help me be a better person; to be compassionate and loving to those around me; to be kind to those who need it so badly; to be patient with those who don't understand; and to be a better person.)

lol....I love the part of "live in peace one with another" but apparently, that's not possible here.

Trying to be neither derogatory nor demeaning. I think it has overtones of polytheism with the comment "that God". I think that you would be much better off if you would leave the mormon church and find a Bible only church.
