I tend to be much more vocal with my peers than with my enemies...much more likely to "call out" someone of my own faith than some other faith. I think the reason is that I object to anyone that speaks for me without my permission. An atheist or Muslim can't speak for me...they are speaking for themselves and it is hardly surprising to me when they say something that I find questionable. On the other hand, when someone holds themselves out as a representative of "Christianity" and then says or does something that I find inconsistent with what it means to be a Christian, I'm far more offended because that person is putting words in my mouth.

As an Ordianied, Inter-Faith Minister, I understand and relate to your query. As I do not thump the "Bible" nor attempt to "Save/Convert", I have been branded "New Age"!
I do not "follow" peers, admiration is another story. I try to see and set the example they set. I stand by my Faith and have comfort in my path, so I do not let others opinions get to me. (Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and most ALL stink!)
My mission is to set an exapmple for ALL. An example of Understanding, Tolerance and acceptance of the Individual.
No Judgment or Dogma, seeking the Highest Degree of Divine Love in ALL situations.
No one knows for sure what is beyond in "afterlife".
We have Faith and a belief system but still , NO-ONE knows for sure!
SO, how can ANYONE hold belief / faith in contempt for another?
If you know for sure, PROOVE IT!
Proof positive in evolution!
Lots of PROOF in Native American "Folk Tales", yet not even a splinter of an "Ark" or anything else to show proof of creationism. No not saying this is right or wrong, just fact.
Too much proof for evolution, NO proof of creationism.
Yet I still preach and teach our personal connection to the Divine ALL and Spirit within us ALL, who Loves us ALL, Un-Conditionally.
Humankind is the ONLY life form that places conditions and limits of our Love and personal connection to Spirit ("God")
Spirit ("God") is ALL forgiving, All understanding and ALL accepting, no matter who or what.
"Christians" will tell you "All you need to do is accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior" and then tell you you are not worthy! Which is it in this double standard?

I fall into the Christian category, and I had an experience like that a few days ago. My sister was like "So, do you believe the Church is true?" and I said "Absolutely." So she asked "Why?" and i said "That's not something I need a reason for." and she said "I think you should know why you believe," and I said "I disagree. Religion doesn't have a reason, it's believing with your heart, not your eyes." and then my brother in law was like "Yeah, I agree."

I am constantly shamed by Christians' responses and questions on this forum. I think we can all relate to your feelings.
