They really don't have anything to fear...they only have a counterfeit christianity and therefore it's endorsed by satan. Jesus never did anything in secret. He always taught and preached in the open and then was crucified but three days later He came back to life and probably scared the crap out of everyone especially the Roman authority....Jesus was who He said He was....God in flesh.
We are first subject to God and then government.

Why are Jehovah’s Witnesses persecuted and spoken against? Jesus pronounced: “If the international hates you, you already know that it has hated me earlier it hated you. in case you have been area of the international, the international could be prepared on what's its own. Now because you're actually not any area of the international, yet I surely have chosen you out of the international, in this account the international hates you.” (John 15:18, 19; see additionally a million Peter 4:3, 4.) The Bible shows that the entire international lies under devil’s administration; he's the first instigator of the persecution.—a million John 5:19; Rev. 12:17. Jesus additionally instructed his disciples: “you would be gadgets of hatred by making use of unquestionably everybody simply by my call.” (Mark 13:13) The word “call” here potential what Jesus formally is, the Messianic King. Persecution comes simply by fact Jehovah’s Witnesses positioned his instructions previous to those of any earthly ruler.

True it is going against Ceaser HOWEVER, Christ Jesus himself broke "laws" of the time if they conflicted with God's will, as did other's. In fact the reason Daniel was thrown in the lion's den was for serving Jehovah, even when it meant breaking the laws of man.

The only major communist country left is China, and they have more religious freedom than you'll find in most parts of the world outside the west, even though they are officially atheist.

God's Laws are higher than man's. We are commanded to meet together to study and increase our faith and knowledge of the Bible and God's will.
We are also commanded to preach and teach others. Though not as free to do this as in the USA, they still do a remarkable job.
Also I must point out the USA would not be free to speak as we are here without JWs. Over 50 times JWs have had to go to the Supreme Court to uphold the Constitution of the USA concerning free speech. Those in authority tend to get overzealous in using their power. Otherwise nice people tap phones, spy on people, forbid meetings, jail anyone they don't like. Remind you of anyplace? It is and was here. The only thing that stopped it in the past here has been JWs using the legal system to enforce its own laws.

Subjection to human authorities is relative. When human law contradicts God's law, we do as the Bible says.
And in Communist or Muslim countries ALL Christian religions have to practice in secret and hold secret meetings....and they DO. The abuses against people of all faiths for trying to practice in such countries is all over Forum 18, Amnesty international and many other human rights places.
Acts 5:27-33
And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
saying, We strictly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man`s blood upon us.
But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.
Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
And we are witnesses of these things; and [so is] the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and minded to slay them.
It was illegal to be a Christian from the get go. The apostles themselves held secret meetings and continued preaching even though it could mean their deaths.
So as they did, we obey God as ruler rather than men. Many other religions do also. There are some countries where it is illegal for virgins to get married....do you think other churches force their daughters to have sex before marriage to obey the secular authority?

JW's are not a cult.
We must obey God as ruler, rather than man, so says the Bible at Acts 5:29 - " In answer Peter and the [other] apostles said: “We must obey God as ruler rather than men. "
We pay our taxes, are law-abiding & have won many, many court cases that have opened many doors to religious freedoms that ALL benefit from.

I'm not Christian, but I think Christian ideology distinguishes between "godly" and "ungodly" government, and does not require Christians to be faithful to the latter.

They think it is right. In that means I do not blame them.If I was living in communist country, and I thought that I was following the truth, I would make sure that secret meetings would take place.
Too bad that JWs are doing that and they follow false teachings. It would be great if they would actually save lives and not to lead people straight to hell that they even do not believe in.

No, because obedience to God comes first. But the so-called Jehovah's witnesses are not obeying God, but are actually working for the adversary to our souls, which is easily substantiated. See here, as Jehovah's witnesses are not allowed to look at critical information, as they are in a mind control cult.
