There are so many wonderful things about Thanksgiving, besides the whole idea of the holiday itself (reminding us to be thankful).
Lets see, as far as food goes, I love the whole month leading up the Thanksgiving, the planning, ahhh, you can almost taste the food. Sometimes, late July, my minds wonders off, the Thanksgiving preparation!
The fact that's it's alright to indulge in all the gluttonous glory that one can stand (and do so several times repeatedly that weekend), is awesome. I feel like Templeton at the county fair!
The company is great, it's a good time to reflect and cherish, it's always nice to play board or card games with each other. There are a lot of guys in my family, so they all play football (that's before they're stuffed too much!).
For some, it's football and parades. Other's it's the shopping that follows.
I like the fact that we can (publicly) start playing Christmas tunes and decorating for Christmas the following day (that's our family tradition).
Thanksgiving, to me, is the official start of the holiday season.

My favorite part is knowing that the shut-ins who receive the meals I have helped to deliver have at least one person that shows they care!
So many people are so busy with their families that they forget that there are others who have no one and all they can do is sit home alone. If you have never spent a holiday alone, you don't know how bad it feels.
I encourage everyone to remember those who are alone. You will have such a feast at home! Why not invite a widdow, or a new-comer to your town who may be miles away from his family to come to your home and share this time with you?
We have been given so much! Remember to be thankful and when you can give to others also!

The dressing if it is homemade , I must say it is hard on Thanksgiving for some of us , because my daughter is not there , she is in heaven , I just got divorced , so it is a little hard during the holidays for some people, but I am still thankful to God to who I have left to celebrate it with . I am invited to my friend's house , who I don't see very often, and more of my good Christian friends are going to be there.
Bless you on this day, my friend...Jay

Friends and family first.
Then it's always SO awesome when you first sit down at the table, and you look around, and there's just PILES of yummy food everywhere you look. Mounds of mashed potatoes, mounds of stuffing, a big 'ol turkey....
mmmmmm..
