Or is this just a cop out used to cancel out the need for reasonable and logical thinking?

Can I use it to explain my recent screw ups at work?

They were purposeful screw ups that will benefit the agency in the long run. They were well thought out and meticulously planned.

God does not work in mysterious ways. Man is not on a high enough spiritual level to comprehend how God works. When scientists say animals display certain behavior out of instinct, are they not implying the exact same thing as believers? They just don't have sufficient data to know the reason?

LOL - God does indeed work in mysterious ways. he certainly doesn't work the way most people think he does. He works through out thoughts, actions, and beliefs. It is US who makes belief work. It is US who has ultimate control over our lives. The stronger the belief, the stronger the ability to use that power and control. It's not some being in a throne far away, it is the energies of the Universe, being harnessed by the Universe's creation, that cause miracles and bad days and really everything. Of course, that's just my opinion, which is only good if you happen to agree with it :)
Have a blessed day and a good Thanksgiving!

Discovering God's Mysterious Ways.
God is mysterious at times. This is not a surprise. Yet, when we take the time to notice and look closer at the seemingly mysterious ways that God works we discover glimpses into what He is really like ... and find ourselves growing closer to Him.

Whoever tries to preserve ones self-esteem will end up losing it, but whoever deliberately loses self-esteem - lowering ones opinion or exposing to redicule ... will find genuine and lasting honor.
Try to maintain or boost your self-esteem and you will end up riddled with shame. Take the opposite course, however, and you'll brim with joy and honor forever.

No. It's just the way religious people cherry pick the things they want God to take credit for. They credit all negative occurrences to the devil.

It's definitely a cop out. It's actually scary how many people subscribe to this way of thinking.

"Man is not on a high enough spiritual level to comprehend how God works."

Just like monte54 said.
Only that IS the reason God works in mysterious ways. Because we don't understand them.

He also works without logic, which is the tool we use for understanding.

God does work in mysterious ways but its you who choose how to cope with this. if you mess up at work because you forgot to do something or you spilled coffe on your brand new jacket thats most likely not him although it could be. God gave you free will but he still knows what you're going to do wiht your choices. God works in mysterious ways but if you get kicked of the team because you had a bad attitude you can't blame that on God. that was you.

No your life is your life!
You live to learn, do not try and put your failings, on any one ells.
At some point you will die, at that time you may meet God.
Well perhaps not, if you have screwed up your life that bad.

It is mysterious only to them that do not know Him. It's not mysterious to me because I know when God does something. It does not have to have a logical reason to it.

Yes he does. ...and if your recent screw ups at work are a result of you seeking his advice and then following it, then yes, you can use it to explain those events. However, it's far more likely that your screw ups are a direct result of NOT asking for or not following his advice...and for that you have only yourself to blame!
