Anyone who cares about the truth is less likely to become religious. Religion provides ZERO truth or factual support. It's based on faith. By definition, faith is belief in something with little or no evidence. There is a reason terms like "wishful thinking" were created.

The more you learn the more you acknowledge logical and scientific explanations for history and events and the less you credit to supernatural beings.

That is because "belief" turns to "knowledge." It is the same with faith. As you learn and find evidences to your faith, it changes from faith to pure knowledge.
The apostles and prophets had a more sure word of knowledge. It changed from mere faith.
