Yes, the general rule is 1-2 dollars a drink.

I usually leave at least a buck a drink plus any extra coins in my change, if I am paying cash.

If you start a tab, then the standard 10-20% on the total bill is appropriate.

For one drink, no.

For a few, leave a $1/drink (or 15%-20%) tip, because people
who work in bars and restaurants usually don't make a lot of
money. The owner can pay them under minimum wage, b/c the
rest is supposed to be paid for in tips.

A dollar a drink, if you pay by the drink. If you have a tab, and pay the whole thing at the end of the night, then you leave 15-20% (or more) like you would a restaurant check.

I feel that most of the above are full-of-**** !!! So.....that means
at $1 for every drink served, a bartender on a good nite
would/could make $500-$800 or more a night in "tips". !!???
Don't you think that is a tad REDICULOUS !!!???
I always tip appropriately at the end of the night, based on the
service that I received. (According to these other clowns,
I'm in the wrong business !!!!!)

If you don't your next one will be weak!
I give a buck each round, weather I'm ordering 1 or 4.

Unless you poured it yourself, someone mixed it for you, served it to you, washed the dirty glass and wiped up the counter when you were done.
What do you think?
