I just got a waffle maker,I seasoned it with pam, made my waffles and it came apart and stuck all over!!Should I use olive oil instead? And should it be thick on the maker?I sprayed on Pam but then wiped it a bit first.Help!I was so happy about having waffles now I had cereal!

Spray with PAM, do not wipe the waffle maker. Keep in mind after the first one they usually come out good, the first one is almost always junk. Good luck

Here are all the reasons your waffles might stick:

An undergreased iron (spray with Pam as others said, and don't wipe it off).
Your waffle iron isn't hot enough when you put the batter in. Be sure it's good and hot. If it has an indicator light, use it.
You aren't waiting long enough before you open the iron. Be patient. Most all steaming should have stopped before you try to open the waffle iron. Undercooked waffles will stick.
Not enough fat in the waffle batter itself. Low-fat waffles will have a tendency to stick (and also to be soft when cooked)
A far-fetched idea is that your waffle iron doesn't get hot enough. If your waffles don't get brown no matter how long you wait, then you might have a waffle iron that runs cold. Replace it.

Don't use olive oil. That would taste horrible. Try butter flavored Crisco, or butter, or even butter flavored Pam. Until you get the maker seasoned, you will have bad waffles. Just take some time and season well with anything but olive oil.
Good luck and happy waffling!

My husband taught me to put a pat (1-2 Tbsp) butter in first and let it sizzle, then add the batter. And heavily spray the top of the maker with the PAM. After that, my waffles turn out great...if I just wouldn't overfill it! But they don't stick!

lots of pam or butter. The first one doesn't turn out that well. I call it 'conditioning the pan'
