Well, if you want to get uber technical, he wouldn't have needed to in the first place.
This was a sea scorpion.

You wouldn't need to house an animal that lives in water if the Earth was... flooded with.. water.

I myself think this is just a parable and not literal fact - but... I find it mildly ironic you'd read a headline, post a question, without realizing the implications.

God wanted to start fresh for a reason. Did you ever stop to think that maybe God realized that humans can't live with dinosaurs and ginormous insects?

On the ark?

What bit of SEA scorpion do you not understand?

God must have zapped those guys separately, along with all the trilobites, ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, mega sharks, etc.

Or maybe it is just more Lucifer droppings. (LOL)

No, its very possible if you've researched it. God created the Earth in 6 days, how hard do you think this was.

God does not make mistakes, except for when his perfect creation screwed up and lacked perfection. Then he sacrificed himself to himself to make up for making a mistake directed at himself.

Easy, isn't it?

"Thank You God" is my reply to that article.
It is the first time I have heard there were giant bugs on earth at one time.
I still wish fleas and mosquito's had missed the boat.
