ok there are 3 versions that i make.
1) Regular Indian tea - Take 2 cups of water and bring it to boil. Then add 2-4 table spoons of dry tea leaves of your choice (you can find loose leaves at any Indian Stores, and there are plenty of them in the US. Also, you can use tea bags if you can't find any loose leaves). Keep it boiling for a good minute and then simmer for 1-2 mins. Add, honey or sugar to taste (usually 1-2 suirts of honey and 1 (or 2, but i prefer 1 tblspoon) table spoons of sugar does it for me). Add, milk or you can use coffee creamer and enjoy!
2) Indian tea with lemon grass - Get some lemon grass and cut off the bottom stalk. Now chop the grass into 1 inch long pieces. Take a loose handful of lemon grass and place in a saucepan with two cups of water. Now, bring the mixture to a boil. Add 1-2 tablespoon(s) of tea-leaves, and boil for a minute. Simmer this for 4-5 mins. Strain into a kettle. Now add sugar/honey, and milk/cream (cold/hot).
3) Iced-tea kicked up a notch - take any of the 2 versions of tea from above (prior to adding milk, you can add honey/sugar) and place it in the refrigerator till its really cold. Now take a glass and fill it with ice-cubes to the rim. Now pour in the cold tea to two thirds of the glass. Add 2-3 tablespoons of condensed milk (sweetened). You can also add fresh mint leaves and purple passion-fruit seeds.

This comes straight from an indian who has been drinking tea twice daily since he was 10!
For 1 cup of tea take 3/4th cup water
Bring it to boil
Add small piece of smashed ginger into it
Add a very small piece of cinnamon ( u can also add cardamom and dry ginger powder, i personally dont like it)
Let it stay in boiling water for about a minute
Add 1 tea spoon of dry tea leaves to boiling water
Add ur choice of sweetener ( DO NOT ADD HONEY TO BOILING LIQUID, EVER!)
Once most of the water has boiled off, add a full cup of milk of your choice.
Bring it to boil a couple of times.
Turn off the heat before it turns red.
Njoy!
Just made my cup about 1/2 an hour back.
