Yes it is wrong many if not all wars are caused by ambitious politicians using religion as a justification. The recent one is the attacks on the west encouraged by so called Holy men of Islam

War in this world is the physical manifestation of the battle which rages between good and evil. "Ye cannot dethrone an iniquitious king [or govt] save it be through much contention, and the shedding of much blood.
"For behold, he has his friends in inquity, and he keepeth his guards about him; and he teareth up the laws of those who have reigned in righteousness before him; and he trampleth under his feet the commandments of God;
"And he enacteth laws, and sendeth them forth among his people, yea, laws after the manner of his own wickedness; and whosoever doth not obey his laws he causeth to be destroyed... and thus an unrighteous king doth pervert the ways of all righteousness."
When a person or people become so wicked as to cause generations to fall away from righteousness, it becomes necessary and right to rebel. To rid a country of an evil government, the price to be paid is the blood of good men. We saw this in the early years of the USA -- the govt of England was corrupt because of the King -- and the colonists rose up and threw out the 'red coats'. The price came dearly with many lives lost -- but, ultimately, the founding fathers understood that peace was not so dear as to be purchased at the cost of slavery to the King of England.

Deuteronomy 13:6-9
This sections sanctions and encourages (in fact commands) the killing of any family member who attempt to make you follow another god.
Leviticus does as well, though i don't remember the chapter and verse.

People have skewed the Bible in a way to attain land and power for their own personal gain.. Of course the Bible's message is of peace and turning the other cheek. The bible does not say to go to war with any other religions.

Nobody fights wars now in the "name of religion" (ie. nation against nation). Fanatics will go to extremes to make their political positions known for political reasons, but for the most part its probably safe to say that most of the deaths that have occurred on account of religion is directly proportionate to ignorance or greed.

God says you have to obey the law of the land. Life on earth wasn't made to be perfect or easy. Its all a test to see who can choose him and live for him. God does not permit killing. Thou shall not kill. Humans are fleshly and they will sin. You have to repent daily. God will not control you. Only you can decide how you want to live your life and spend eternity. Do you not remember in the columbine shooting where a girl was shot to death for believing in Jesus Christ? She will be greatly rewarded from God for sacrificing her life for Jesus. Life is hard, but you have to choose. Please ask God into your heart and have faith in him and he can show you the way.

Not everyone believes in the same god or god at all. They get rid of the opposition because they feel threatened, and can then take back what 'god gave them' and what they feel was rightfully theirs. Silly huh?

I have wondered the same thing myself. Although there are many religious people who practice without bothering anyone about it, there are many religious nuts who will kill in the name of God, and I don't understand it. It's incredibly hypocritical.

Because they left God and became his enemies. True Christianity does not do that.
James 4:1-4
Whence [come] wars and whence [come] fightings among you? [come they] not hence, [even] of your pleasures that war in your members?
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.
Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend [it] in your pleasures.
Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.
Micah 4:1-5
But in the latter days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of Jehovah`s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall flow unto it.
And many nations shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem;
and he will judge between many peoples, and will decide concerning strong nations afar off: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning-hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig-tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of Jehovah of hosts hath spoken it.
For all the peoples walk every one in the name of his god; and we will walk in the name of Jehovah our God for ever and ever.
2 Timothy 4:3, 4
For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts;
and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.
1 Timothy 4:1-3
But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;
forbidding to marry, [and commanding] to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth.
