It's usually "don't ask".

(Or "god did it", which amounts to the same thing. If I ask you how corn flakes are made and you respond "Kellogg's makes them, you haven't answered my question at all).

If God in heaven created the world, who created Heaven? God. Can't say that somebody created Heaven, appointed and sent God to go to heaven and create the entire world. Then, that somebody becomes Godder than God. Therefore, God created Heaven. If God created Heaven, where was He before He created Heaven? Hell? So God in hell created Heaven. Why? Because he did not like hell?
Where was he? He has to create the space. God cannot be outside space to create it because there is no such thing as outside space.

So God creating the heaven and hell and creating the world from heaven - All these are non-verifiable beliefs. And what did God use as material to create all these? Out of nothing? Something cannot come from nothing. Why do you say out of nothing God created the world? Why not put it this way? Out of NOTHING ELSE He created the world. God did not go around asking - "Give me some material, I have to create the world". So the material for creation has to be found NOT outside that God. As the Veda says: "Swayam akuruta" and "Swayam abavata" also. "He made" and "He became". He is not only the maker but also the material for creation.

An islamic view
"Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? " surah 21:30 proof to Big Bang Theory

He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. (Qur'an, 6:101)

And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Qur'an, 51:47)
Proof that universe is expanding

This is just few

Hello VimtoMonkee,

Very interesting research! Well, as a Muslim I’ll tell you what we believe, I’ll also share some Quranic verses.

First of all, we refer everything to ‘Allah’ which means in Arabic: The God, because we are monotheists and believe there is only one god who is THE God. So if someone asks us: How was Earth created, we would say: God created it. But it doesn’t end there, because in Islam we must learn HOW it was created.

I am not sure if you are meaning world as in our universe, or our planet? But no problem, I will mention both and hope both will help in your research.

First of all, we believe God created the universe from nothingness:
“He (Allah) is the Originator of the heavens and the earth…” (Surat al-Anam: 101)

Another Quranic verse: “Do those who are disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were sewn together and then We unstitched them and that We made from water every living thing? So will they not have faith?” (Surat al-Anbiya': 30)

From Harun Yahya’s book, The Creation of The Universe
[There is a very important choice of words in the original Arabic whose translation is given above. The word ratk translated as "sewn to" means "mixed in each, blended" in Arabic dictionaries. It is used to refer to two different substances that make up a whole. The phrase "we unstitched" is the verb fatk in Arabic and implies that something comes into being by tearing apart or destroying the structure of ratk. The sprouting of a seed from the soil is one of the actions to which this verb is applied.

Let us take a look at the verse again with this knowledge in mind. In the verse, sky and earth are at first subject to the status of ratk. They are separated (fatk) with one coming out of the other. Intriguingly, cosmologists speak of a "cosmic egg" that consisted of all the matter in the universe prior to the Big Bang. In other words, all the heavens and earth were included in this egg in a condition of ratk. This cosmic egg exploded violently causing its matter to fatk and in the process created the structure of the whole universe.]

We also believe that the universe is in constant expansion: “It is We Who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it.” (Surat adh-Dhariyat: 47)

About earth’s creation: We believe that first God created Earth, then He created the skies, then He created LIFE on Earth.

More Quranic verses on Earth’s creation:

“Your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then settled Himself firmly on the Throne. He covers the day with the night and, each pursuing the other urgently; and the sun and moon and stars are subservient to His command. Both creation and command belong to Him. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of all worlds.” (Surat al-Araf: 54)
“In the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and day, and the ships which sail the seas to people's benefit, and the water which Allah sends down from the sky- by which He brings the earth to life when it was dead and scatters about in it creatures of every kind - and the varying direction of the winds, and the clouds subservient between heaven and earth, there are Signs for people who use their intellect.” (Surat al-Baqara:164)

Genesis Chapter 1

2007-11-21 04:54:25 · answer #5 · answered by Canute 6 · 0 2

the question you sould be asking is ' what am i doing here on this earth'? not why do we still have religion.
once you understand what you are here for then you will understand the meaning of life.
i think with most human beings they do not answer this question correctly and thus the fighting and wars you see in ur life.
obviously if we use our intelligence we can come to the conclusion that man was created, this is because man is limited, it relies on food and air. and also if ppl do not belive man is created then why can we not create a single man, give them a functioning body and brain?
and once we have answered this question, we can then look around us and come to the same conclusion aout the wrold, i.e the world is limited it relies on the sun and water and this means the world is not created as well. now moving onto the universie we cannot sense its bountries but we know it is limited. this is becasue we can use our intelligence to come to the conclusion that everything INSIDE the universie is limited, i.e earth, moon sun, mercury etc. Thus the universie is limited as its components are limited.
So after all this the intellect man would come to the conclusion that there is a creator who is unlimited and does not relay on ANYTHING.
Nowu got to ask urself why was i created, what does the creator want from me? the only way to find out is ask the creator, but we will not get a response. But the creator CAN communicate to all of us using a MESSENGER (Prophets)
These prophets cannot be just any1, they need to perform a mircle in order prove they are messengers. A mircle that no1 else can match, a mircle that is a gift from the creator only.
So now we look into our history books and can see that he messengers of the creator all had a mircle, i.e. jesus could bring the dead back to life, moses could turn a stick into a snake, abraham did not get burnt by fire.
all these messengers had a mircle and brought a message to its ppl, but the mircle finished with these ppl when they passed away.
The only mircle that is still alive and will be till the end of time is the QURAN. This is because no humanbeing can write anything in arabic anything close to the quran. it is the speech of the CREATOR because we know who ever wrote it has given every man a challange. in the QURAN the challange is to match its words that consist of three lines. But as we all know no human being or ppl put together have been able to match this challange. So if human beings cannot write three lines that match the QURAN they cannot obviously write the whole of the QURAN.
So using our intellect we can confirm the QURAN is NOT from MAN but can only be from a CREATOR.

And now my frinds you have answered one of the MAIN questions of life!!!

Would depend on your religion. Type 'creation stories' into Google and press enter. There's zillions of them.
One chinese one mentions a monkey that broke out of an egg and spend 18000 years carving the heavens and earths. Then he spent another 18000 years seperating them. When he died one eye became the sun, another the moon. His bones became the rocks and his blood the rivers, his tears the rain and his breath the wind. His hair became the grass and his smile the flowers. They say the fleas on his body became the human race :-)

All religions will have their own stories and legends from the story of Creation in Genesis onwards. My own belief is that it developed over millions of years and that it was created by God who could have done it in 7 days but did not. he had eternity to do it all in so if it was done in 7 days what was the hurry.
I may be wrong but I do not think the sequence of events in Genesis is that far out

There are many religions, and then there is Christianity which is defined as a religion but is really a belief. For that answer you need to read the entire first chapter of Genisis. But which religion (or belief) you are talking about I have not a clue.

It depends of course on which religion, although most of them say that God (see Genesis in the Bible for example) or a god or some sort of spirit-being did it.

Buddhism however teaches this: Don't worry about it, because it is un-knowable.
