Someone mentioned volition for mystery shopping and that is a good forum if you want to do mystery shopping. However you should know that mystery shopping does not pay much and if you live in a small area you won't get many shops a month either. You will also have to use your money to pay for items or shops and then you will be paid back later (ex-if you are sent to a restaurant, you will have to pay your bill, you don't eat for free until you they receive your report and it can take 4-6 weeks to receive payment).

There are some data entry jobs but legitimate jobs are very rare to find. The few companies I know about have large waiting lists and do not charge a fee, it is also data entry work that requires that you have skills. If you do have data entry skills, then I would recommend either freelancing and bidding on jobs/projects or trying to get businesses in your area to use your services.

If you go to my profile, the website listed has work at home jobs and companies. Many of the companies listed do not ask for a fee but will want for you to have skills, may ask that you have high speed internet, and that your pc meet their requirements. The companies will hire you to be an employee or as an independent contractor. Some companies offer flexible schedules while others may give you a schedule to follow. Hope this helps!

Many companies have people who work at home. But the Internet sites that claim they'll get you work at home, generally with an up-front fee, are pretty much all scams. Internet sites for the fields you mention are not likely to be anything but scams.

There are legit work at home jobs out there. However data entry is not one of them. Phone, technical and writiing are the most common ones. I have done mystery shopping in the past, but with the cost of gas it is too expensive. http://wwww.volition.com has a list of legit mystery shopping companies.
