Hello, I recently founded an independent rap music label called "Super Kind Records" less than a year ago. To assist in the promotion of my label I legally changed my name from Earl Finklestein (which in my opinion was not gangsta enough) to Super King. Well, my daughter, who is 16, told me a few months ago that she though this was cool and was all of the sudden attracted to guys who have unique name. I figured this was just her being a rebellios teenager so I didn't take it seriously. Well anyway, yesterday she introduced me to her new boyfriend and his name is "Cash-Dog Murder!!" This is horrible because what if they get married and have kids! I don't want my grandchildren to have the last name Murder or have a father with the first name Cash-Dog!! On top of this, Cash-Dog Murder is a rapper for another rap label which is one of my major competitors.

This is just awful. Please help.

Beware of the logical leap! Just because he is her boyfriend now does not mean he will be her husband tomorrow. Your saying he is her "new" boyfriend means she has had boyfriends before and those relationships ended, which is normal to the teenage experience. This relationship is most likely going to end up the same as others in the past - an experience that helps her determine who is really the right man for her.
If you make your fear/objection to this relationship known, you may possibly drive her to stay with him longer than she would anyway. It is important to STAY CALM about this in front of her and him. Let things take their course. Treat him as you would any other young man she is dating.
Worst case (or best) . . . let's pretend he is a great guy. Names can be changed (as you have observed) You changed your name and your daughter admires you - thus her interest in other people who have done the same.
It is important for you to find the positive on each issue you have brought up. As far as him being a competitor - if he is a great rapper, their relationship could bring him over to your label. With some well-planned, prayerful wisdom, you could even influence him to change his name to something that would be more widely accepted. Not all people who listen to rap music condone murder!
Take a deep breath, trust that you have raised her well so far, don't push her (or him) away with fear or anger, and look for the best.

Rebelion has come. Try to get to know the guy, maybe sign him when his contract is up. If you didn't want her involved with rappers, maybe you shouldn't have started a rap label. The chance of her marrying a guy she is dating when she is 16 is very slim. So just take a deep breath and relax. Besides he has to have some other name before he had that name, maybe on the rare chance that they do have children the children can use that name.

You set a bad example and your daughter followed your lead. I'm sure when you both grow up some more you can change your name and she will pick a good name for her future kids.

I'd recommend you suit up in your colours, hop into your ride, and wait outside his recording studio with a gat, then gun him down when he exits the building. You don't want your daughter ending up with that name, and it'll give you a lot more street cred, not to mention, beef sells.

lmao that's funny, not even big time rappers really change their name. 50 cent is really Curtis Jackson, Eminem is Marshal Mathers, they don't sign their checks "plies" or their rap name. You really must thing your something ha ha.
