Islamabad is the City of Islam and replaced Karachi as the capital. Personally and unusually for me and foreign countries I have never had any wish to visit although I have long wished to visit both India and Pakistan

I'm assuming your American.. so I won't even attempt sarcasm.

Yeap it's a coincidence... Pretty obvious when you consider the people naming it probably didn't know English.

Islam is just another religion, its as good or bad as the people who follow it.. and just because a couple of people have commited terible things its doesn't mean the other 1.8 billion people are bad.

I am hoping you don't need reminding that christianity has been used as an excuse for 'evil' too.

"abad" is an arabic term following the names of many cities, like Hyderabad....it is a word meaning roughly to "abide". Learn a bit more before you go using the english language to bash something you obviously know very little about.

Ha! I made the same joke in my head the other day when I was listening to NPR. There was no one else in the car to enjoy the moment. =(

Maybe it's like when the kids say "bad," and they mean good.
