You can't judge an entire religion on the basis of a few bad apples.

I was just wondering where, in al Qua'aran, does it do that?

Incidentally, I know some Arabic and have read al Qua'aran and many other contemporary accounts, which is why I'm asking.

With all due respect, aziz, please clarify what does al Qua'aran say you shall do to the idolater? Does it not say that you shall not suffer them to live, if they will not convert to your way?

Even the People of the Book shall live as "dhimmi" under Islamic rule, when the World Domination is achieved is preached there.

Is it "love and compassion" that the dhimmi shall not be allowed to hold property, nor repair their places of worship which were destroyed by the Muslims, nor practice their faith publicly and live, on the whole, as subservients to the mighty Muslim?

Can you really deny this exists in al Qua'aran?

I'm sorry, aziz, but we do know the Truth.

Consider the fact that we, who do not follow al Qua'aran, are not doing this to your people who even enjoy "Minority Community Rights" in many of our lands.

I seriously wonder if we are doing the right thing by allowing you people all the privileges that you would deprive us of if given the chance.

I'm sorry, but, why do you say that only a few bad apples are causing all this while there is the History of what Islam has done to the Babylonians [Iraq], the Buddhist Afghanistan where there are no Natives living anymore, the Parsee Iran where no Native Parsee exists anymore, the Hindu India, the recent attacks on Southern Thailands peaceful Buddhist monks, the 9/11, London Train Bombings and so on and so forth?

Does this look like the work of a few bad apples to you?

As for those that throw the Nazis and Crusades at us, do they really know what they are talking about?

The Nazis were not Christians but occultists, in the first place.

As for the Crusades, it's common knowledge that except for the instance of King Leopold, the Knights Templar even protected the Muslim women and children and old and maintained the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem and were respected by their Muslism enemies.

Wa'akum deenakum wa'aliya deeni, aziz.

Ma sala'amah.

A "few" bad apples? Pretty much 90% of the world conflicts going on right now involve muslims. So it stands to reason that either all the countries involved that are not muslim, each with citizens of different cultural, ethnic, and religious background, got together and agreed to all hate muslims at the same time (something highly improbably seeing as that it takes forever for even two countries to agree to anything) or that the single unified muslim philosophy instead is the driver behind the conflicts in Chechnya, Kashmir, Pakistan, Israel, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Darfur, Somalia and the list goes on. Which do you think is more likely?

If the Islamic faith is really about love and compassion, why do I never see muslims condeming Palestinian suicide bombing or the Iranian pursuit of atomic weaponry or the genocide in Darfur? The answer is that they don't because they secretly support such actions, and don't want to do so openly, lest they dispel the myth of a loving and compassionate side of Islam.

The day I see a muslim publicly condemn these acts of terrorism is the day I will start to see that maybe I am wrong about all of this. But I won't be holding my breath.

It may have something to do with the silence from those of the Islamic faith with regard to the evil acts of Islamic terrorists. Most people likely view that silence as an endorsement of the terrorists.

Why doesn't the true Islamic faith speak out against this evil? If it did, I think people would believe the "love and compassion" claim. In my opinion, not speaking out against evil of any kind is evil no matter what faith you are.

The reason so many people judge it is because -
1. The Sunni, and the Shi'a are fighting and arguing about who should be in charge, one side says the descendant of Mohammad (good luck finding them) and another says the oldest in the community. The people who believe in the best of things in the Qur'an are called Sufis, they are peaceful, very peaceful.
2. If your a firm believer in Jesus Christ (like the Muslims are, but different) and a Christian, nothing else matters all other religions were 'created by Satan'. Basically its saying their to lazy to bother learning about other religions, and would rather hide behind 2007 years (how long its apparently been since Jesus was killed) of horrible conflict.

To whom does Islam show love & compassion to? What do you judge an entire religion by?

You don't judge by what is taught - - - but what is done . You know about the Saudi girl getting two hundred lashes because she was raped . You probably know about all the suicide bombings of market places , schools , and wherever else women and kids congregate .
All of that killing couldn't possibly go on if the people weren't protecting the murderers . It can't happen in any but Islamic countries. So please don't mention a few . You mean a few millions .

It's seen this way by the majority of people for the same reason that Xians are seen as being bigoted and narrow minded. It's a small but very vocal minority who are the best known. They take the words and twist them to fit their own radical views. It becomes politicised and every group winds up with their own interpretation, but each group claims to be the only one with the "true" word.

So it's the extremeists that are presented as the face of modern Islam and the same can be said for Xains.

Tell that to the women who get beaten or killed if they don't cover their heads/faces/entire bodies.
Tell that to the women who are first raped, then whipped or stoned for having had "illicit sex".
Tell that to the victims of "honor killing".
Tell that to the victims of a girl's school fire who burned to death because the "morality police" would not let them escape the building without head scarves.

It's not just a few "bad apples"...unless you're ready to claim that Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afganistan, and others are all run by "false muslims". These things are being done by people who claim they are enforcing the Shaira. If you want the stereotyping to stop, then perhaps Islam needs to clean out its own closet.

true and there are many religions that teach love and compassion, like Buddhism. you have to realize people will always make assumptions of things they don't understand. plus, it doesn't help how the media portrays your religion. i do not believe in any religion (there should be no middle man between God and I) but i like that it promotes those ideas to people. if only they could stop teaching all that other crap that hinders society's progression and true unification.
