As Lucien says, you have a good basic sense of composition and that is a big plus.

From what I saw, I think you could be a very good photographer. However, just like anything else, you would have to apply itself.

Classes are a great way to go, and I am going to loosely group clubs in here, but they aren't the only way. They have the advantage of being structured and there is a social factor that is important to many, but you can learn it all on your own with discipline and applying a structure. The information is out there.

Right now, your photography is uninformed, but the basics are there. You will need to learn how to use the controls of the camera so that every result you get is the result of an intention on your part. Intention is a very big part of it.

What you intended and what you end up with are your guiding lights. You will see lots of advice to get out there and take a lot pictures. That is semi-good advice. The part that seems to be missing is that the only pictures that will really contribute to your photography are the ones that are intentional. It doesn't matter if they are good, or bad.

Keep shooting. Above all, if it makes you happy and you enjoy it, you have every reason to keep doing it.

Modern equipment allows you to get a well exposed and focused image without needing to know anything about the technical aspects of photography. However, that doesn't mean you don't need to study, develop a style and decide what works for you and the people who would view your work.

The pictures you showed tell me you have a good eye for composition and are not afraid to move in close. Since you are taking self-portraits, you may be a little shy when it comes to photographing strangers or in strange locations. Investigate some professional work in the following areas then set sail on one:
Journalism
Portraiture (including weddings and social event photography)
Commercial Photography (pictures of things)
Fine Art photography (Travel, scenic, etc.)

It will take much time and commitment to achieve a career in the field and being an amateur is not a bad thing, just another way to pursue your love of the craft.

you like to shoot...classes never hurt and joining a camera club helps tremendously...there will be those idiots that will tell you not to bother, but no one starts out taking smashing pictures and then the really good and great shots start to creep in at first i think i had some happy accidents and tried to do the same thing after that...you are willing to experiment, and try different things and it takes alot of that to get good shots. keep it up, don't get discouraged and keep sharing.
develope a thick hide, critiques can be rough.
but to answer your question any hope as a photographer...yes there is some talent and passion in your work, you simply need to refine and study technique, composition and lighting (we all still do, i don't think anyone "arrives" at a place where every shot they make are smashing and great and they know all there is to know about photography)
by the way the shots of the child on the bridge, you got down at her level for the shot...yes? good job there, not many people do that when taking pictures of children, and it is sad that they don't...they miss the shot entirely.

Hey now not dangerous! It handed my "litmus experiment". Any time I WANT to appear on the subsequent web page, and the following web page, and the following and so forth, of any one's graphics, then there may be without doubt a few well paintings there. I could advocate you cross by way of your graphics with an excessively important, goal eye and get rid of the weaker, extra cliche photographs. The overexposed near up of your self rather demands to move, as good as a few others right here and there. The dangerous apples rather harm the influence of the well graphics. You exhibit creativity and well composition abilities regularly. I could say you must surely maintain pursuing images. steve

Talent is nurtured.

You're off to a great start, and honestly, some of your photos really look great. Go to the library, get a few books and start reading up on composition, framing, rule of thirds and stuff.

I'm a beginner like you, that's what I do and I think that I'm constantly learning and improving.

imagine meeting you here.

:)
and to answer your question everyone can be a photographer its just how hard you work. how hard you persevere.
you must remember my pictures when i first started blurry, of random objects like bowls and pretty much terrible.
i gradually just worked to get better.

your pretty much doing the same thing. its just harder because you don't have as many oppourtunities to expand.
i have siblings and joy who is practically a sibling so its easier i guess but whenever an oppurtunity arises make sure you jump at the chance.

also you have a pretty good knowledge of camera lingo (better then me!) and you know how to use a camera plus photoshop which is a bonus, so yes to answer your question i believe there is hope.

haha.

practice!

You have a good start but you need to think about what you want out of photography. I saw some real promise in some of your shots(Music) but you need to think about this are you asking because you want to make money? Art? or are you really interested in your work. Once you decide then I would find a college near you that offers courses in what you are interested in.

Of course there's hope, but as with any art form you need to expand and mature your knowledge.
