Hmmm...The show I watched about AW had film of the place and it was covered with Hindu images of gods/goddesses...that and I read, in a few places, that Buddhism was an offshoot of Hinduism-maybe that's where I got my info...
As far as Jewish deity goes-I worded that wrong-I was thinking more of location but 'Jewish' still gets the point across. It's a joke and to the person whp said they'd lose their lunch-Sounds like your problem, not mine.

It proabably all depends on what mood He's in on any given day... that and the fact that 'salvation' in the OT is conditional upon keeping the commandments, laws and rules. Show me someone who is doing that, and I'll show you Israel's Moshiach.

If you examine the record, you will find as long as they were faithful, nothing could beat Israel. They had the good life.
When they went back to being a "hard hearted and stiff-necked people" as Exodus chapters 32 & 33 point out several times, they lost. Their places destroyed and people put into slavery because of their attitude toward YHWH.
When they repented and asked forgiveness, God forgave them and restored them.
