Depending on the size of the mole, they will cut it out or freeze it. Freezing it should be covered by your insurance. If you don't have insurance I would expect it to run around $100. You may feel a bit of stinging, but not much more than that. If they cut it out, they'll give you a local anesthetic first. It's a very simple, and pretty painless procedure. Don't worry about it too much.

I had a wart frozen off. He uses this tube that shoots out really hot air. (?) That freezes the wart. Then he did it again a few minute later. The first time hurt, but the second time wasn't as bad. I am not sure of the cost, but I hope this helped.
I had 2 or 3 appointments to get the wart frozen off because the 1st and 2nd times didn't work.

most doctors do not "freeze" moles because that rarely works for a mole. If they do, then they apply liquid nitrogen with a cotton tip swab to the mole, it doesn't generally hurt, might burn a wee bit. As for cost, that varies from doctor to doctor.

They stick your head in a freezer while your mole gets freezer burn. They then take an ice pick and start chipping away at the mole. It eventually shatters and falls off. Rather painless experience....rather expensive experience. You could do it at home though?
